Easy ways to turn typical Easter activities into developmental wins.

Easter Obstacle Course Adventure! 🐰

Turn your egg hunt into a mini movement challenge:
➡️Bunny hops to the next clue
➡️Bear crawl under tables or chairs
➡️Balance along chalk lines
➡️Carry eggs on a spoon

These fun movements are great to build strength, balance, coordination and motor planning - all while hunting for chocies!

Fine Motor Easter Egg Lab! 🥚
Eggs aren't just for hiding - They're perfect for little hands!
➡️Open and close plastic eggs
➡️Hide small toys inside
➡️Use tweezers to move mini eggs
➡️Decorate eggs with stickers or crayons

This is great for improving hand strength, finger control and visual-motor skills.

Just like food and water - sleep is a basic human need.

Sleeping 7-9 hours a day allows the body to repair physically and cognitively. Sleep deprivation may affect your goals, especially if you just booked that marathon coming up or the gym goals you set.

💡 Tips to achieve your sleep goals -

☁️ Maintain a consistent sleep schedule: Going to bed and waking up at the same time each day.

🐑 Develop a nighttime routine: Brush teeth, wash face and Dimming the lights can help ease your body into rem sleep.

☁️Exercise: Regular exercise improves sleep, even light exercise such as a 10 minute walk or enjoying an activity like gardening, cooking can hugely benefit the way you sleep.

🐑 Caffeine and Alcohol: Timing your caffeine intake well to allow your body enough time to metabolise. Alcohol might help make you drowsy, but your sleep quality will suffer.

☁️ Mentality: When you have a lot of thoughts to process from your day it can be difficult to shut down into rem sleep. If these thoughts don't have right away solutions, then they can wait to revisit in the morning.

Better sleep leads to a clearer mind and can contribute to kicking your physical goals!

If patients aren’t doing their home exercises, it’s rarely about laziness.

Adherence drops when programs are too complex, too time-consuming, or don’t feel relevant to real-life goals. If exercises increase pain without clear explanation, fear can also stop people from continuing.

Add in busy schedules, fatigue, and stress — and even a good program can fall apart.

The solution? Keep it simple, make it meaningful, set clear expectations, and ensure it fits into everyday life.

At Mid North Coast Allied Health, we focus on practical, individualised plans that patients can realistically stick to — because consistency drives outcomes.
