A message from Dr Elizabeth Ryrie

It has been a pleasure having Dr Ryrie as a colleague here at Westside. We're going to miss her just as much as her patients!😢 The silver lining is that Dr Ryrie will still be serving the Hastings Community as part of the NSW Health Palliative Care Team 💙🩷

More new artwork 🤩

We've added some more new pieces to the walls from the fantastic Alejandro Lauren, who even visited in person last week to hand deliver an original piece that was proving difficult to ship. (Thanks Wayde!) We love the bright colours and how much they have elevated the feel of our waiting areas 🌈

Thanks to Sunset Framing & Gallery who have done an amazing job helping us select frames and hanging pieces for us.

There are more photos and artwork still in the pipeline to go up soon!

Big news - our logo is changing!

As part of our physical refresh of the building we've also had our logo redesigned. We've tried to keep similar elements in the colours and and logo, and make the updates remain connected to our original logo.

We're going to have new signage installed over the next week or two, but wanted to give you all a sneak peek!

With it comes a new slogan - Your Health in Caring Hands. We feel it describes our goals of care here at Westside really well 💙🩷

Weather updates

Multiple staff and doctors are affected by floodwaters or weather today including Dr Harrisson, Dr Setterfield, Dr Arthurson and Dr Barnett.

We’ve sent messages again and reception will be in touch this morning to offer alternatives.

Again, we can offer telehealth alternatives if people can’t attend in person.

It’s been an interesting week - Dr Chessor even spent the afternoon manning the reception desk 😂

🌧🌧🌧 Stay safe in the weather everyone! 🌧🌧🌧

The surgery will be operating as usual today although we’ve got multiple staff and doctors who can’t make it in today including Drs Harrison, Mazur, Setterfield and Francis.

If your doctor is away you have probably already received a text, and reception will call you to offer an alternative.

If you’re concerned about travelling in the rain today we can convert your appointment to telehealth, just give us a call after 8am - our phones will probably run pretty hot, so thanks in advance for your patience 🙏

Vaccine Appointments

Now that the initial rush has died down, we've stopped scheduling dedicated clinics and opened vaccine appointments up to all doctors and nurses at any time. This should give more flexibility when looking for a vaccine appointment.

Vaccine appointments are brief 5-10 minute appointments to administer influenza (flu), Covid, shingles, pneumonia, tetanus or whooping cough vaccines to eligible patients.

All doctors are happy to bulk-bill vaccine appointments.

If you need to discuss other issues with your doctor as well as a vaccine, please book a standard appointment to allow appropriate time.

Update 08:32 - power is back! Love your work Essential Energy 👏

Power out at the clinic this morning!

Morning all - we’ve had a sudden power outage just as the clinic was meant to open this morning! It is affecting the whole hospital precinct.

Phones are still working but we can’t access appointment books, make or change appointments, or do many of our normal tasks.

Doctors are here and will do their best to address what they can if you would still like to attend, but some things may need to be rescheduled.

Thanks all for your patience. We will update you all ASAP.
