๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™‚๏ธShoulder pain is one of the most common things we see at Hastings Physio and Health.

It's also one of the most misunderstood.

The shoulder is one of the most complex joints in the body and when something breaks down, the surrounding muscles and tendons compensate. That compensation is usually what you feel as pain.

Which means chasing the sore spot alone often misses the real issue.

Here's what we look at in a proper shoulder assessment.

Headaches aren't just something you should push through.
I work at Hastings Physio and Health. I have a desk job. And I was still getting headaches. And I was guilty of "pushing through".

So I did what I should have done sooner. I booked in with Josh.

Full history. Proper assessment. He actually listened to my history and triggers with headaches.

If this sounds familiar, Josh Burt is taking new patients at our Wauchope and Lake Innes clinics.

๐ŸฐQuick heads up!

Weโ€™re closed Good Friday and Easter Monday. To give our team some rest and dedicated chocolate-eating time.

Weโ€™ve still got a few appointments available this week.

Get in, get it sorted, move better.

Every winter sport season, our phones light up with the same question from parents. ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธMy child keeps waking up upset with sore legs. Is that normal?

Usually, yes. Growing pains are real and very common. But here's what every parent deserves to know.

Not all leg and joint pain in kids is growing pains. Some of it is Sever's disease. Some is Osgood-Schlatter. Some is patellofemoral pain. All three spike every single winter sport season.

After nearly 40 years helping families on the Mid North Coast, we've seen what happens when these conditions are left too long. Kids who miss half a season. Kids who push through pain and make things worse. Parents who wished someone had told them sooner.

Guy has put together a straightforward guide for parents covering what growing pains actually are, when to be concerned, and when it's time to get a proper assessment.

Read it here ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://physioandhealth.com.au/growing-pains.html

Not sure what your child is dealing with? Drop a comment or send us a message. We're happy to point you in the right direction.

๐Ÿ‰ Kids winter sport is back. And so is knee pain season. Two conditions we see constantly in kids aged 10 to 15 right now:

Osgood-Schlatter disease characterised by sharp tenderness just below the kneecap, worse after running and jumping.

Patellofemoral pain characterised by an ache behind or around the kneecap that flares after sport, stairs or sitting too long.

Both spike when training loads increase quickly. Which happens every single winter season.

The good news? Most kids don't need to stop playing. They just need the right plan.

We'll get your child assessed within 48 hours and give you a clear Recommended Action Plan from day one. No guessing. No "wait and see."

Because the sooner you know what's going on, the sooner they're back doing what they love. ๐Ÿ’ช

We loved being part of the Breakthrough T1D Australia supporting people living with Type 1 diabetes!

Our Exercise Physiologists, Erin and Kalei kicked things off with the warm up, and one of our patients Jess Moss, a diabetes educator, shared a great talk on the day.

A highlight was walking with our Fit Mob legend Amanda, who set a goal to complete half the walk but ended up smashing the whole distance. We are so proud of her. ๐Ÿ‘
