Seesaw Psychotherapy

Seesaw Psychotherapy A safe haven to confirm your sense of self and to nurture your individuality. You’re in safe hands.

At Seesaw Psychotherapy, Maryanne builds awareness by focusing on your present moment experience. By developing an increased level of awareness, you are able to approach life’s situations more confidently and resolve issues you may encounter. When something is getting in the way of our current level of awareness, we may find ourselves repeating similar patterns of behaviour that are no longer serv

ing positively in our lives. This can lead to experiencing feelings of unhappiness, anxiety, depression, confusion and, in children, disobedience and aggression. For example, storing emotions we are perhaps unaware of from the past can drastically impact how we relate to those around us in our present; friends, family and co-workers, just to name a few. Without awareness, repetition of the same unsatisfying circumstances in our lives continue to occur. When we gently invite stored emotions to become a part of our awareness, we are able to free ourselves from repeating disruptive patterns and allow ourselves to live a more satisfying life. Maryanne has extensive experience working with individuals, children and families both here in Australia and in schools and orphanages abroad (Europe and Asia). Maryanne has a passion for the well-being of individuals, particularly children, and an understanding to assist families who are in crisis or need a little guidance towards a more positive direction. Maryanne graduated from Victoria University, Melbourne, with a Bachelor of Communication in 2005 and completed a Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy (Gestalt) in 2011. Maryanne is currently studying a Masters of Social Work (Mental Health) at the University of Queensland and will complete a Masters of Psychotherapy (Gestalt) in November 2014. Maryanne is currently taking appointments for psychotherapy on the south side of Brisbane and will be working by individual appointment and for group therapy support at Shambhala Wellbeing Centre, Port Melbourne (Victoria) in 2015.

A beautiful young māmā of four precious tamariki has died on the street in Brisbane on Saturday night. Police said she was stabbed repeatedly at the hands of her long-term partner, Anaru Ormond, who left her to die in the middle of the road. The man then set fire to their house in Kallangur and later died of his own injuries.

Siva Auvae was just days away from her 32nd birthday that she would have celebrated on Christmas Day and has been remembered by whānau as a loving mother and someone who enriched the lives of those around her. Many have paid tribute to the “most beautiful cousin” and “the most loving, kind person” saying “it hurts my heart to hear you’re gone”.

Queensland Police Service Detective Inspector David Harbison said the couple only moved to Brisbane from NSW in the past week and that there were no current domestic violence orders in either state related to the couple.

A fundraiser has been set up to help her four children and return her body home to Aotearoa which we have linked here. Please give generously to this whānau as they grieve such a painful loss.

We are heartbroken and absolutely devastated. As we conclude the today it feels horrific to be writing that yet another woman has been murdered at the hands of her partner.

TĀNE MA this cannot be our legacy. We must HEAL the mamae that runs deep in our communities. We must support our brothers by calling them forward into a life FREE of violence. Your childhood trauma wasn’t your fault BUT YOUR HEALING NOW IS ABSOLUTELY YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

And as a community we must do all we can to SPEAK UP and prioritise the safety of our precious wāhine and tamariki. I have spent my life devoted to making the tools of healing accessible and free so that we can TRANSFORM instead of TRANSMIT our pain. Lives depend on us having the courage to do this.

Please check out InnerBoy NZ if you are struggling here in Aotearoa AND our colleagues at MATE Bystander programme at Griffith University are doing all they can to bring this app to Australia along with our books being made available in Australian prisons in 2024.

KO TĀKU, HE WHAKAPIKI AKE
Our purpose is to HEAL!!! 🖤
