Move to Live - Exercise Physiology

Move to Live - Exercise Physiology I am beyond excited to help you and the ones you care about to move better and look forward to meeting you soon. Meredith

Helping people of all shapes, sizes, ages and abilities to move more easily and live joyful lives!
*Improve mobility and movement
*Maintain function and independence
*Prevent and manage chronic disease At Move to Live - Exercise Physiology we help people with chronic conditions, diseases, injuries or people who might be at risk of these, to move their bodies and live joyful lives! These conditions can include diabetes, high blood pressure, back pain, arthritis, pre/post surgery, injury recovery, cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, mental health concerns, Parkinson's Disease and many more. As an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, I love helping my clients to develop a positive relationship with movement and their bodies, while helping them to achieve their movement goals and manage their conditions. My clinic is weight-neutral and I work in the Health At Every Size (HAES) paradigm of providing people of all shapes and sizes with healthcare tailored to them and their movement issues. We do not just look at someone's size and blame all of their issues on this one thing, but instead help them with what is truly impacting their life and health with a lens of kindness and compassion. I aim to create a safe space where people can come to move their bodies without fear of judgement, will be truly listened to and their issues will be taken seriously. We don't do diet talk here ... we just focus on helping you move better.
Please feel free to have a squiz at my page, pop down to Port Noarlunga South and see the clinic or to give me a call on 0419 945 436 to chat.

We are choosing another date to celebrate!
The clinic will be open Monday January 26th for all your movement needs.
We have Group Classes at 10:30am, and 11:30am, so you can give us a call to book your slot, or have a 1:1 session throughout the day.
We know that while for some people this is a holiday to be celebrated, for many it is a day of deep sadness and mourning. Because of this we have decided to open as usual, and celebrate on another day. πŸ–€πŸ’›β€οΈ
If you would like more information about our reasons for this choice, please visit https://www.changeitourselves.com.au/ or https://www.clothingthegaps.com.au/pages/not-a-date-to-celebrate to find out more.
We hope you have a great day, whether we see you in the clinic or you are spending time with loved ones.

WHEN DID IT BECOME ONE MILLION DEGREES OUTSIDE??? πŸ₯΅

Trying to move your body in the heat can feel nearly impossible. We've decided to share our favourite tips and tricks for moving your body in Summer!

If you would like to learn more about managing your movement in the heat, or just want to make good use of our air conditioner, feel free to pop into the clinic for a chat or get in contact with us with the details below!

[Video description: A video of four of the Move to Live Exercise Physiologists sharing their tips for moving your body in the summer heat.
Ash begins by catching a water bottle from a unseen force off camera and proceeds to describe her favourite trick is to carry a water bottle with her to stay hydrated. She then toss the bottle out of the camera frame.
The next cut of video shows Jaz seamlessly catching a air conditioner remote, appearing as though the bottle has transformed into a remote. She then turns on the air conditioner behind her and mentions to remain cool in this heat by exercising indoors in the air con or in the water. She then throws the remote out of frame.
The next video cut shows Caitlin, who catches an object, now in the form of a two kilogram ankle weight. She then mentions that it is okay to reduce your exercise intensity and take extra rest breaks as needed. In this process she swaps the two kilogram ankle weight for the one kilogram ankle weight and then tosses this outside of the cameras frame.
Finally we see Meredith who catches the last object, a bottle of sunscreen. Here she explains that if you decide to exercise outside, it's important to remain sun safe by wearing sunnies, sunscreen, and a hat. She demonstrates her sunscreen and sunglasses but is unable to demonstrate her hat because she forgot to wear one. She then tosses her bottle of sunscreen out of frame.]

Today is the International Day of People with Disability.
The theme of this year is 'Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress'.
It is clear we cannot progress as a society when entire groups of people are left behind, are not given a seat at the table, or are not afforded the same opportunities to contribute to our world or live full lives.
Some changes that need to happen are small and quickly achievable if we just put in the effort, while others are large, systemic, and feel utterly overwhelming.
By making a daily conscious effort to be inclusive, raise up the voices of lived experience, and consider those who are most vulnerable when making decisions we can continue to move the needle to make our world more accessible to all.
Move to Live is proud to be committed to continue to put accessibility at the forefront of all our decision making processes, both big and small, so we are always able to say 'this was made with you in mind'. πŸ’š

πŸ’šMeet the Move to Live Team!!!πŸ’š

Jaz (she/her) creates a welcoming and warm environment for her clients to be themselves during their sessions. She loves working collaboratively with her clients to figure out what is going to work best for them, and is always keen to learn and expand her knowledge.

Jaz hails from the Sunshine Coast and loves a cheeky early morning surf before work. She loves getting her writing on with some poetry and prose, and when she isn't in the clinic you will find her in the ocean or chasing waterfalls (she won't stick to just those rivers and lakes!).

Professional Areas of Interest:
Kiddos
Older adults
Multiple Sclerosis
Type 2 Diabetes

Availability:
Jaz works at Move to Live on Mondays, Tuesday, and Thursdays.
