Today is . What does have to do with your mouth? 🤔 Turns out, quite a lot.

An Australian study showed 57 percent of patients presenting to their dentist with gum disease were undiagnosed pre-diabetic… and seven percent were undiagnosed diabetic!

That’s why we’re encouraging members to consider an assessment for diabetes for patients presenting loose, wobbly painful teeth and bleeding gums.

Management for periodontal disease is much more successful when diabetes diagnosed and under control and treating periodontal disease may make glycaemic control more successful.
