Island Yoga Yoga is for everyone - the yoga I teach is suitable for all body types, ages, and most health considerations,

When we practice the teachings of Yoga, & embody all the limbs of the tree of Yoga - we learn to understand ourselves better & learn to connect with our own body, our mind and our emotions Therefore anybody can practice yoga"

Contribute to your own healthy wellbeing by practicing yoga, learn how to relax, feel better, reduce stress and take time out for yourself to rejuvenate your body and mind. Hatha Yoga, with a mix of different styles depending on the theme of the month or term and student needs. Generally I commence the classes with with a 'centring and letting go' relaxation followed by Warm Ups, Basic Yoga Postures and easy flowing sequences, a delicious Relaxation & Meditation, Breath Control Practices (Pranayama) throughout the whole class and during relaxation - "breath is life." When people leave they arel happy and relaxed :)

6:00pm start - 7:20pm finish - "Mens Shed" 3 Parham Street Port Pirie SA 5540. Class commences on time - doors are locked just after. We have a lovely group and new people are always welcome for more information please contact me (Sandra Waite)

Hello Friends
My Monday evening yoga classes are taking place this evening.
These smaller classes are ideal for those seeking to nourish their minds and bodies, reconnect with like-minded individuals, and develop greater awareness of their physical presence.
Rather than focusing solely on postures, we will explore the interconnectedness of our physical, mental, and emotional bodies, using breath awareness with physical practices to release trapped energy.

This week's focus areas include glute strengthening, sciatica relief through tension release, and a nervous system reset via yoga Nidra.
This practice plays a vital role in mitigating the inflammation and stress that we often carry in our bodies.

We welcome new participants to join our group and encourage you to allocate this 1.5-hour time slot to your personal growth.

PRANA MUDRA ✨

Prana is life force or vital energy and this mudra activates and channels this subtle energy that fuels our body, mind, and spirit.

πŸ§˜πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ Touch the tip of your thumb to the tip of your ring finger and little finger. Keep the index and middle fingers extended gently. Close your eyes and breathe slowly, allowing prana to flow freely.

πŸ•‰οΈ You can welcome in a mantra like "sat nam" or "so hum" as you breathe, infusing the practice with vibrational intention.

Science shows evidence that if we take the time to breathe properly - assists with the cellular memory of our body replenishing cells & removing toxins, stress & stuck energy. If we focus some awareness on the pause - in between the inhale & the exhale breaths then this gives us time be present with ourselves in the moment and with the world around us, we can choose to react or respond, helps to reset the nervous system and increase our sense of wellbeing

Yoga class tomorrow evening we’ll focus on our lower back ( lumbar spine) and shoulders because often are both connected- this will be a gentle nourishing class taking time for ourselves in our own bodies to stretch, release any tension and strengthen the back body.
Often we don’t feel like coming down to the mat due to our obligations or just the busyness of our lives - so the β€˜universe’ gives us a shove πŸ˜… then we’re so glad we’ve taken time for ourselves to strengthen our physical body, which connects our mind wellbeing balance & thrn our energy we give out to others πŸ˜‰πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ
