As we get closer to the end of the year and things start to get busy, just a gentle reminder of my appointment times and the 5 minute leeway. This allows me to run on time and ensures your appointment with me is thorough.

I thank you for your understanding with this.

Are you due for a cervical screening test (CST)?

Active Health Portland are running a clinic lead by one of our female doctors to help make sure your cervical screening is up to date.

CST is also available via a self collect method which can be an option discussed at this appointment with the doctor.

Appointments are available the morning of the 6th October and all day on the 8th October.

Please call the clinic for more information and to book an appointment during this time.

Gentle reminder - bookings for the rest of the year

I have no availability between now and the second week in November. It is also quickly booking towards the end of November.

Please call the clinic or message if you have a concern that needs to be triaged urgently.

Thanks for your patience.

Women's Health Week might be wrapping up, but looking after your health and wellbeing doesn’t stop here. Day 5 is all about being kind to your mind 🧠

Your brain is your body’s control centre – from memory and movement to mood and motivation, it keeps you going every single day. Today, we’re focusing on how to keep it healthy, sharp, and supported.

Caring for your mind is just as important as caring for your body – and your mental health plays a big role in that. We’ll share ways you can protect your brain, boost your thinking, and feel more in control.

Let’s stop the narrative around women’s pelvic pain just being a normal part of menstruating.
Pain SHOULD NOT stop you living daily life
Pain is NOT something you just “grow out of”

Talk to your GP or book with a pelvic health physio if you’re experiencing pain that interrupts your life to the point you are not able to work, play sport, exercise or do things you enjoy.

Day 4: Pain to power

Today shines the light on pain. It is not something to experience and manage all on your own. Commonly though, these symptoms are experienced for a long time before women receive appropriate help.

There are many beneficial management options to pain whether that be experienced as period pain, endometriosis, adenomyosis, migraines or pain with in*******se.

Day 3 of Women’s Health Week is all about your heart ❤️

Heart Foundation CEO David Lloyd is helping us to shine a light on the gender gap in heart health – and why women’s heart health deserves more attention.

👉 “The Heart Foundation urges women in Australia to take the opportunity this Women’s Health Week to check their heart and encourage other women in their community to do the same. It really could be lifesaving.”

If you're due for a heart health check, now’s the time to book it in. Not sure if you're due? Try our new Her Health Check tool to find out exactly what health checks you're due for.

Day 3: Heart Smart
Today is a reminder to us all to be thinking of the health of our heart including our blood pressure, cholesterol and exercise.
🩷 Heart disease is a leading cause of death in women
🩷 Heart health can change as we age especially with hormonal changes in menopause
🩷 Heart health checks are available with your GP
🩷 Pregnancy itself can also increase the stress on our heart so it is so important to know when to seek help and what to look out for.
🩷 Walking is a great exercise for your heart - it improves circulation and lowers your blood pressure
