Today the staff of St Luke's Care and residents at Lulworth House came together to celebrate Daffodil Day in the most joyful way! 💛

Our wonderful Food Services team treated everyone to beautiful cupcakes, lovingly created by our very talented pastry chef – and they were enjoyed by all.

The afternoon was filled with laughter, music, and dancing as residents sang and danced along with a performer whose voice lit up the room.

A heartfelt thank you to the amazing team at St Luke's Care and all who participated in making today such a special celebration.

Happy International Friendship Day from all of us at St Luke’s Care!

Today, we celebrate the joy, strength, and comfort that friendship brings—not only in our personal lives, but also across our St Luke’s Care family. Whether it’s a shared coffee, a kind word, or a heartfelt laugh, the bonds we form with each other truly matter.

Friendship is at the heart of everything we do. For our community, having a friend can make all the difference—keeping people connected, confident, and independent in their own homes. We know that social isolation is a growing challenge in our society, and that meaningful relationships are a powerful antidote.

At St Luke’s Care, we’re proud of the friendships that blossom between our clients, residents, carers, volunteers, and staff. We value each other as colleagues and teammates—and we see firsthand the impact that friendship has on wellbeing.

So today, let’s raise a virtual toast to all the friends who make life brighter. Whether you're walking alongside someone in their care journey or sharing a smile in the staff room—you are making a difference.

Stay Connected, Stay Well

As we age, staying socially connected is not just nice – it's essential. Regular activities like going to the shops, catching up with friends over coffee, or simply enjoying a chat can significantly reduce the risk of loneliness, depression, and even physical decline.

At St Luke’s Care, we believe that community is medicine. Our vibrant programs help you connect with others in meaningful and joyful ways – whether you’re singing in our community choir, strolling through the Royal Botanic Gardens, laughing with friends at the Taronga Zoo, or exploring beauty at the Art Gallery of NSW.

- All you need to do is turn up – we’ll take care of the rest.

- Make new friends. Stay active. Feel supported.

If you're interested in joining the St Luke's Care Community, reach out today – we’d love to welcome you. 💚

Your Brain Loves to Move!
Want to boost your memory, sharpen your focus, and lift your mood? The secret isn’t in a pill — it’s in movement.

Here’s your simple brain-boosting formula:
✅ 150 minutes of moderate cardio each week (walking, swimming, dancing — your call!)
✅ 2–3 strength workouts weekly
✅ Add in balance and coordination exercises for the full brain-body benefit

St Luke's Care can support you in making this happen however it needs to start with you.

Why it matters:
Regular aerobic exercise can actually grow the part of your brain that controls memory — increasing hippocampal volume by 2% in just 6 months! That’s like turning back the clock on brain ageing by 1–2 years.

So don’t just sit there — move, stretch, dance, walk. Your brain will thank you. 💚
