The weather was wild and wintery, but no matter we loved being down on the Maribyrnong River with our supersize nest for National Tree Day.

A huge turn out to get 6000 plants into the ground!

Whilst we engaged both children and adults in seed pod mandala making we chatted about the need for advocacy and education on the state of our waterways.

Tactile engagement helps people to build a personal relationship with something, an object, a tree, a river. In turn this relationship encourages care.

We met lovely people who spent time with us talking about the environment and climate anxiety and how to support young people.

In spite of the rain People stayed and played. So with umbrellas, tarps and a lot of laughs we got down to some serious seed pod pattern making.

Shout out to Maribyrnong River and Waterways Association who invited us to be part of their stall. Also congrats to Milly Burke and her stellar team at Moonee Valley City Council for hosting and organising the day.
