🌞 Skin Cancer Awareness Week | November 2025

Your skin is your body’s largest organ and it deserves your attention and care every day. 💛

This Skin Cancer Awareness Week, we’re encouraging everyone to take a closer look at their skin health. Skin cancer is the most common cancer worldwide, but when detected early, it’s also one of the most treatable.

🩺 Here’s what you can do to protect yourself and your loved ones:

🌤 1. Practice Sun Safety Every Day
Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) every morning, even on cloudy or cool days.
Reapply every 2 hours, especially after swimming or sweating.
Seek shade between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., when the sun’s rays are strongest.
Wear protective clothing, wide-brimmed hats, and UV-blocking sunglasses.

👀 2. Know Your Skin
Perform monthly self-skin checks in good lighting, and look for new, changing, or unusual moles or spots.
Remember the ABCDE rule of melanoma detection:
Asymmetry | Border irregularity | Color variation | Diameter >6mm | Evolving appearance

Basal Cell Carcinomas (BCCs) are the most common form of skin cancer—and while they’re usually slow-growing, early detection is key to preventing long-term damage.

🔍 Common warning signs of BCCs include:
• A shiny, pearly bump with rolled edges
• A non-healing sore that bleeds, crusts, or scabs
• A spot that seems to come and go, but never fully resolves
• Areas that look like a flat scar or white patch
