We’ve currently got some after school times with immediate capacity!

We’re opening a new block of appointments on a Wednesday with Lauren, and Jacinta has a Tuesday spot! There’s also a couple of “last lesson of the school day” times sprinkled across the week.

If you’re on a waitlist for Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology can be a valuable option in the meantime. While we don’t replace these services, we can support progress by helping maintain and build functional capacity, mobility, coordination, and more.

There’s also significant overlap between Exercise Physiology and other therapies — so we may even be able to start working on your primary concerns right away!

🥊 Benefits of Boxing 💪🏼 🧠 Boxing is always a hit (😜) whether we use the boxing bag, or the boxing pads with a partner. Boxing is a fun, high-engagement activity that targets key elements of motor development — coordination, timing, body control, and brain-body connection. Plus a range of health benefits! It can help with hand eye coordination, bi-lateral coordination, fine and gross motor integration, cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength and endurance, and mental health and emotional regulation as examples. Reformer-based exercises help strengthen the muscles required to support posture and stretch muscles to increase overall mobility.

😄Fun & Variety
From jumping and stretching to balancing, sliding, pushing and pulling, the reformer offers a wide range of exercises that keep clients engaged.

We’d like to do some de-bunking… ✨ Autism isn’t just neurological — it’s physical, too. ✨

Many people don’t realize that Autism can affect movement, coordination, posture, and muscle tone.

Because the brain and body are deeply connected, individuals with Autism often experience some key physical symptoms:
•Low muscle tone
•Motor planning difficulties & Dyspraxia
•Sensory-motor difficulties

Exercise Physiology is not just fitness — it’s therapeutic movement designed to support the nervous system, build strength, and improve functional independence.

Swipe to learn more about low muscle tone, dyspraxia, and sensory-motor integration dysfunction and how an Exercise Physiologist uses evidence-based movement to help.

Autism is whole-body, and so is our approach.

If you’d like to know more about how Exercise Physiology can help, or to help provide evidence for your NDIS review, please reach out for a free discovery chat!

Although not screen time, sitting and doing homework, reading a book, drawing or even playing with Lego are all sedentary activities. They’re not bad activities, they’re important for learning and creativity, but we just need to be mindful of how long we do these activities without taking a break. It’s important for our physical health, but it also improves focus!

Some ways to ensure we take regular breaks:
•Set a timer - we recommend every 30mins, 60mins at most.

•Task breaks - After a task or activity, do some movement. You could incorporate the movement to your to-do list “science questions- 10 Star jumps”.
(This could be for each chapter if you’re reading!)

•Movement between subjects (or chapters). When you finish your maths, you might do a 20sec plank, or 20sec high knees, dance to a song)

•If we’re using Lego, perhaps take a break at the end of a bag, use a timer, or break your build up into tasks and allocate a break to each

•Put your drink in a smaller cup rather than a bottle or large cup, then you have to get up to fill it up more regularly.

Movement breaks don’t need to be long, or a full workout. We just need to move!
Sit to stands, star jumps, squats, wall pushups, dance parties, stretches are all great, quick movement ideas!

If you need some help with some individual strategies, please reach out for a free discovery chat!

Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune condition that limits the body’s ability to produce insulin, leading to elevated blood sugar levels. Without proper management, this can cause damage to vital organs over time.

Unfortunately, Type 1 Diabetes cannot be prevented, but it can be effectively managed through insulin, balanced diet and regular exercise.

Exercise helps to lower blood sugar levels, improve insulin sensitivity, reduce the risk of long-term complications and improve overall health!

An Exercise Physiologist’s role in supporting a young person with T1D is empower them to safely enjoy physical activity, improve overall health, and optimize blood glucose control.

Exercises physiologists can help by:
•Providing individualised exercise plans
•Providing education about exercise affects blood glucose levels, and signs and symptoms during and after exercise.
•Education around safety, establish routines for pre-, during-, and post-exercise blood glucose monitoring, adjusting insulin doses before exercise, timing of meals and snacks, and having fast-acting carbs handy.
If you’d like to know more about how we can help you to manage Type 1 Diabetes, reach out for a free discovery chat!

Scooterboards are one of our go-to’s! They provide so many benefits from improving strength and shoulder stability, core strength, motor planning & navigating, vestibular and proprioception, and provide visual motor integration! Pretty cool huh? And to make it even better, they’re super fun.

Did you know that 26% of Australian children are overweight or obese?
That’s 1 in 4 kids between the age of 2-17 💔

This poses major health risks, not to mention it can have a huge impact on self-esteem.

Exercise Physiologists helps kids move more, enjoy physical activity, and build healthier lifestyles—essential components in managing childhood obesity.

We do this by:
•Focusing on building physical literacy and motor skills for activity, not just weight loss.

•Develop age-appropriate, fun, and engaging physical activity plans tailored to the child’s interests, abilities, and health status

•Collaborate with other professionals (e.g., dietitians, pediatricians, psychologists) for a holistic approach.

•Educate about the importance of regular physical activity, less sedentary and screen time. Provide individualised strategies to support gradual increases in activity to build lasting habits.

•Support parents and caregivers to reinforce positive lifestyle habits at home.

•Help set realistic, achievable goals and supports behavior change using various strategies.

We know weight management can be complex, and needs an individualised approach.
