Good morning everyone. What a glorious start to the day after some wintery weather. Time for some reflection....

Recently we have had several people pass that were close to us. This has brought to light the internal struggle many face silently. So we decided to share some helpful to navigate grief and loss whilst still honouring your loved one.

Grief isnโ€™t something we โ€œget overโ€, itโ€™s something we learn to live alongside.

Here are some healing exercises you can try when you feel like you aren't coping.

๐Ÿ’Œ Write them a letter you never got to send
๐Ÿ““ Start a grief journal
๐Ÿ˜Š Share a lighthearted memory
๐Ÿซ™ Create a memory jar
๐Ÿ“ธ Make a legacy collage
๐ŸŽ‚ Start an annual ritual in their honour
๐ŸŒฌ Practice โ€œbreath & releaseโ€
๐Ÿšถ Go for a mindful grief walk
๐Ÿ› Find comfort under a weighted blanket
๐ŸŽจ Paint or draw your feelings
๐ŸŽต Make a meaningful playlist
๐Ÿ”ฎ Craft a symbolic object
๐Ÿซ‚ Join a grief circle
๐Ÿ“ž Set up a weekly check-in buddy
๐Ÿค Volunteer in their name
๐Ÿ“ List life lessons they taught you
๐Ÿ“ฎ Write a letter to your future self

You donโ€™t have to do them all, just choose what feels right today.

And remember: your grief is valid, your pace is perfect, and youโ€™re not alone.

If you would like a free resource to guide you through Grief and Bereavement please let us know and we will email you a more extensive guide.

Take control of your life, by writing your story. We often don't consider writing our story down out of a fear of reliving it. But recently Andy did just that, and in doing so unlocked some hidden trauma and rediscovered himself like never before. All through the power of diving into his past and writing it down. By doing that, you are controlling the past, not letting it control you. And it can do just that, without you even knowing.

Schema therapy is one way to look at the behaviours, and thoughts that may be influenced by you unaddressed past. For more information on how this can help you, contact us at pbs@engagedsupport.com

Winter is not far away from being behind us. So we have started planning summer activities and fun. Imagine spending the day on the water, relaxing, eating lunch and exploring Tassie's coast. Or if you are more adrenaline fueled, getting on a ski biscuit? hmmmm sounds good to us.

Andy handed over the keys to the van on Friday to some very happy workers at Self Help Workplace in Youngtown. We will miss the van but happy to see it go to a good cause and that it will be used more than we could.
ESS has integrity and standards. We stand by them, we live them, but unfortunately not everyone we have worked with are the same. Aligning ourselves with the right people sometimes means starting from scratch. Watch this space
