𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐠𝐞? 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐭 & 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐨 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭?
Have you ever wondered why some people seem to age well, while others feel very sluggish rundown.
One contributing factor is silent body stress, the slow buildup of low grade inflammation that quietly impacts the body as we age. Unlike the inflammation that comes with an injury or infection, this type is subtle and persistent.
Overtime it can become one of the key drivers behind common age related conditions, like heart disease, type two diabetes, osteoporosis and cognitive decline. The good news? You can support your body and nervous system to age well now and feel strong. I’m always thinking of simple sustainable daily habits.
Three ways to ease inflammation as you age:
1️⃣Focus on breathing well. Slow deep belly diaphragmatic breathing can calm your nervous system, lower stress hormones and gently support your body’s natural repair processes. Just by starting with a few mindful minutes a day can make such a big difference.
2️⃣Support your Lymphatic Flow. Your lymph system is key in clearing waste, reducing fluid retention and supporting immune health. Gentle daily movement, deep breathing and regular bodywork like lymphatic massage helps keep the system flowing well!
3️⃣Healthy eating. Eating more omega-3 fatty acids like salmon, flaxseeds, Chia seeds and walnuts are powerful for reducing inflammation in the body and supporting joint, heart and brain health.
💛 Sometimes one of the best things we can do is also step away from the constant rush. Eating well, resting and slowing down on a holiday just like I’m doing here..Ahhh Samoa forever in my heart. It was the most beautiful way for me to destress and give my body space to rest and recharge.
Happy to chat in clinic, I love helping you move and feel better not just in the busy seasons, but for the long haul as we age.
