💫🌒🍂ECLIPSE UPDATE
We are well into the watery intense period of the eclipses in July!
We experienced our first eclipse on July 3rd. It was a solar eclipse in the sign of Cancer. The next eclipse will be a lunar eclipse on Wednesday morning at 7.35am in the sign of Capricorn.
Mercury turned retrograde last Thursday and will be travelling through the signs Cancer and Leo, and there are numerous outer planets also in retrograde.
Not only a busy time in the sky, but how does that translate to our own life?
This period technically started on June 20th and will be complete on August 16th.
So it is interesting to observe what begin to kick off for your personally around those times. What themes are present in your life.
Eclipses can bring radical change, and they also can bring up the part of our psyche that needs to die in order for something new to be born.
Because the eclipses are about the luminaries being in the shadow, we too must look to the shadow of our own psyches to see what needs to be seen and transformed into a new way of being, or the space you create through release and surrender.
Eclipses can be times where your life can experience unexpected and rather radical changes. What can appear one way, turns out to be completely different.
The transition of one way of being into another. When something which was may have been hidden in the unconscious may come to reveal itself in the light.
There are a few themes here for us to consider…lets uncover a few of them.
Cancer is having a big influence in the spotlight and so we will take a brief look at the themes it brings.
Cancer themes and Archetypes are the Nurturer, your family of origin, ancestral lineages, family patterning, intuition, sensitivity, Mother, Caregiver, Healer and the eternal Child.
It can represent the shadow side of wanting to be needed or being needy through insecurity, old programing of taking care of others and not meeting our own needs, being overly sensitive to criticism and rejection and also needing the approval of others in order to feel validated and safe.
You may be triggered in your parenting, with your own family of origin, old issues or emotions coming to the surface. Feeling stuck and powerless
This is a time to question/journal what patterns may be running on auto pilot. What survival patterns that have kept you safe as a child that no longer serve you as an adult need to be looked at lovingly and let go gracefully?
The other part to contemplate in this cycle and given that we are in a retrograde period, is how comfortable do you feel in the void, in the space between space without needing to fix or to take action. Can you sit in the discomfort of the unknown without knowing what the answers might be? Are you able to be vulnerable and present in the shadow of your psyche?
It is indeed a time to hermit, to say more no’s than yes’s, a time of reflection in our cave. A time of replenishment , self care and nurturing so we can address our past to be able to move forward.
It is asking you to take a pivot into something new in your life by looking honestly at the patterns and dynamics that no longer serve you. This can be a painful process, and at the very least uncomfortable.
In our busy lives, how do we allow ourselves space to be introspective.
The other part to this Eclipse is the Capricorn energy.
Capricorn is an earth sign, and the part of the zodiac which keeps it real. It is responsible and very capable.
The way it talks in this eclipse is that we need to re-parent ourselves, be the hard core mentor, with a healthy dose of tough love to keep you moving up that mountain.
How are you going to parent yourself through this?
It talks to part of our wounding that keeps repeating the same patterns and stories, and with honesty, accountability and grit it asks that we move beyond our conditioning and old stories and stand as an adult by continuing to do the work when life becomes too hard. It says “you got this, now keep going!”.
This can be a tricky time, and we may be in for a turbulent ride. But the rewards it offers are worth the grit.
In this potent and intense period I recommend being vulnerable and curious with what arises. Being conscious at this time is definitely the pathway of least resistance.
Hard works does indeed pay off.
Be gentle, be kind and be deeply compassionate with yourself, and slow down to make space for what is wanting to emerge.
And of course seek whatever support you need in order to make it as graceful and safe as it can be.
