If there is one thing I could tell every first time mother to invest in, it would be seeing a pelvic floor physiotherapist

Pregnancy places a huge amount of strain on your pelvic floor muscles and surrounding tissues. As your baby and uterus grows, your body adapts, stretches, and moves toward its physiological limit.

As somebody with pre-existing conditions (endometriosis and interstitial cystitis), I knew that pregnancy could place extra stress on my body. Pelvic floor physiotherapists are experts in this space, and can work with you to support your body with tailored exercise, stretches, and massages.

Seeing a pelvic floor physiotherapist, particularly in your first pregnancy, is a fantastic way to gain insight into your own body, and learn more about how you can best support your body throughout pregnancy and beyond.
whealth supported and empowered me to have the best possible experience during pregnancy and postpartum. I am so grateful that I had access to this service. Day by day, I feel stronger in my c section recovery, with small habits I learnt in my sessions.

As a first time mum, I felt overwhelmed by the amount of conflicting advice regarding ‘essential’ post partum items

With social media influence, and the pressure to over-consume, it can be so easy to fall into the trap of overspending on gimmicky things

Some items I’ve genuinely been loving post partum:

1 - Large volume water bottle, enough said. I’m exclusively breast feeding, therefore I know I need to be drinking 3+ litres of water a day to nourish myself and my baby. I love this one from
2 - A high quality supplement, I did LOTS of research pre-conception on the best quality, evidence based, natal supplements available, that actually have the correct amount of essential vitamins and minerals that the body can absorb efficiently. I have been taking this one from for almost a year now and it is an incredible all rounder
3 - Reusable breastmilk bags, I’m very conscious of my eco footprint, and I hate waste. As an oversupplyer, I’m really glad I invested in some good quality, food grade breastmilk bags. I really love these ones from
4 - Silicone scar strips, I had a c section and wanted to ensure I took care of my scar from day one. I have bee loving these reusable strips from and have found huge benefits in overall scar appearance, fluid retention reduction, and sensation return
5 - Body oil, I swear by this product from . I used it religiously during my pregnancy, and it literally saved my ever stretching skin. I’m loving using it as a little self care rotation on my scar for massage, and on my breasts. It’s made with high quality oil that is safe for all stages

So I had a baby 🥰
I’ve been intentionally quiet and protective of my space and energy. My pregnancy was incredibly tough, particularly in the third trimester with new neurological diagnosis, an extended hospital admission, and premature labour resulting in an emergency c section. I had to grieve the beautiful, low intervention birth I prepared my mind and body for, and surrender to the birth that ultimately was the safest option for me and my son. The old rhetoric of Midwives having complex births was certainly correct in my case 🙃 My little man is 11 weeks old today (how on earth did that happen???) and I am genuinely SO proud of myself, and my partner for how we have adapted to this new season of life.

Over the next few months, I plan on slowly reengaging with this account. I’ve got so much to share through my new lived experience, that I hope will benefit other women. For now, I’m leaning wholeheartedly into this special time, knowing it is so fleeting.

Huge love always 🤎

Sunday love ✨

I love reflecting on parent feedback from the wonderful people I have had the privilege to teach, it feeds my soul.

It motivates me to continue to evolve professionally and personally, while providing the best quality childbirth education for our little Canberra community.

This special love note was so special to reflect back on - I adored teaching Nicole and Josh, who welcomed their little man Ezekiel into the world earlier this year 🥰

Holli’s brith & pregnancy journey - part 2 of 2 ✨

The absolutely devine has so kindly shared the birth and pregnancy journey of her little squish Ed

I was fortunate enough to take Holli and Josh through the positive birth program, which they were so incredible receptive to and empowered them both with the skills and knowledge to have a beautiful birth

I’m so proud to know Holli on a personal level, and just been such an honour to see her blossom into a Mumma ❤️

Holli gave birth at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital in rural NSW, under a continuity of care model with a student midwife

Use your BRAIN when making decisions ✨

I love teaching parents simple ways they can ensure they are receiving all of the information they need to make informed decisions

In Unit 3 of the Positive Birth Program, we discuss and apply the use of the BRAIN technique

I have received so much positive feedback from parents (birth partners in particular) on how this technique helped them to feel empowered in making tough decisions in the birth space

I’ve been slightly absent from socials lately my loves, it’s been a full on last few months .. As

✨ I’ve been nesting away in my new home, it’s been such a special time
✨ I’ve thrown myself into my Masters study this year, its been a balancing act, but how sweet it is to learn alongside some incredible women
✨ I’ve supported/am currently supporting 7 wonderful couples through the Positive Birth Program in a private capacity
✨ In between all of this, I have tried to make more of a conscious effort this year to slow down and honour what my souls needs - if I need to take a break, I do. If I need more, I create more

I hope you are all able to take some time to reflect on the changing seasons of life this weekend (and stay warm while doing so)

Welcome to the world angel baby Ed 🥰

I was so fortunate to be able to support Ed’s super special parents, Holli & Josh, in the lead up to birth with private Hypnobirthing Positive Birth Program sessions

Holli & Josh were a dream to teach, taking ownership of their birth experience and refining their tool kit for birth - I couldn’t be prouder x

Happy International Nurses day 🤎

I am so proud to be a Nurse.

I am proud to work alongside and in partnership with some of the most driven, selfless, empathetic, compassionate and kind Nurses, who have worked tirelessly over the past 2 years up during some of the most unprecedented times.

Through staff shortages, burnout, fatigue and hunger for change.

I feel an immense sense of pride in knowing some of my closest friends are Nurses.

Through ever-changing PPE and government requirements, Nurses continue to provide holistic care to patients and their families.

We work in dynamic, unpredictable environments. Often facing physical and emotional trauma, abuse, and discrimination.

We do this because we care so deeply for the health and safety of our community.

We do this because we are Nurses. We are also mothers, daughters, sisters, aunties and friends.

Don’t forget to thank a Nurse in your life today and everyday, small acts of gratitude really do go a long way ✨
