School holidays have begun! With them, I have a confession to make...
When I decided to become a Primary School Teacher 15 years ago, one of the main reasons was because I liked the idea of having 3 months of holidays every year. I kept this on the low down each time I had a job interview and the Principal would ask “So what made you want to be a teacher?” Not sure my honest response would’ve gone down all that well.
Whilst I’ve taken a career change over the last 5 years and am now an ‘Energy Psychology Practitioner’, ‘Children’s Author’, ‘Elderly and Pre-School Yoga Teacher’ amongst other things, I have maintained this rhythm of taking school holidays. This is a lifestyle choice I have made as a mother, too, so that I’m on the same rhythm as my kids. Whilst for now this also means that my income suffers, and no, I won’t be taking the kids overseas on any fancy holidays any time soon, my wish is that even though I feel some financial stress, I will ENJOY the time off anyway, and let them be filled with LOVE.
Sometimes I think - when I’m on my deathbed, would I rather look back and have a really full bank account and burnout, or more time spent on holy-days with loved ones?
With a bit of luck (mixed with authentic alignment and abundance), maybe one day there’ll even be both!
On that note, Daily Practise will be closed for the next 10 days! We’ll be back Monday October 13th.
Love,
🌻Sally
P.S. This is a little snapshot and snippet from Snugglepot and Cuddlepie at Centennial Park yesterday performed by - this was a childhood FAVOURITE of mine. Such a joy seeing it come to life with my kids and their cousins yesterday. Love the way Sienna is asking for the snake to come back on stage for an encore at end 🐍😹
