It’s been a while! Happy New Year, starting as I mean to go on with some beach yoga and the interesting placement of sandcastles 🤣 But really perspective, it’s a good place to start as we look ahead to a new year of possibilities, what can we control amidst the chaos, what can we be grateful for amidst the uncertainty and what change in perspective can we find in our everyday that brings a little more lightness and presence to our everyday #2022

I keep seeing these beautiful trees flowering everywhere at the moment, I think it’s a kind of tulip tree (it’s a kind of magnolia tree I’ve been informed by my green fingered friends!🤣) . Spring is on the way in the Southern Hemisphere! That is all just a little moment of beauty to start the week

❤️ Finding beauty in the familiar, uncovering little treasures in our usual stomping ground that we’ve never noticed before, because there was always something bigger, better and newer to do. Creating new adventures within walking distance of our home and realising how lovely and calm the simple things can be for us all ❤️

What is a yoga practice? It is whatever you need it to be. Yoga isn’t necessarily getting on the mat although that might be amazingly helpful for you. It can be whatever your body and mind needs to restore itself to some kind of balance. Yesterday I went for a run, I had a lot of nervous energy and the best way for me to deal with that was to run it out, I knew sitting on my mat wasn’t going to work. I also did some basic journaling which is also helpful to process what’s happening. I allow my daily “practice” to change on a daily basis based on what I need and what’s happening for me. That may or may not work for you but embracing change in this way for me is a good thing. What I learn in my practice I take out in to life and that time sets me up for what comes next. Listen in to what you need and take a step towards it

10 minutes of quiet a day…how hard is it to find?? Too had some days I know 🤪I’m on day 10, and i’m finding it easier to find the time. I squeezed my mat in the study out of the way and used the counting meditation technique. I’m finding that really useful for me at the moment. Count down in your head from 100, “I breath in 100, I breathe out 100, I breathe in 99 I breathe out 99”. If you get lost just start again until you’ve had enough. Once you get to 50 just let it go and try and follow your breath after that.

Hello July, middle of winter here in Sydney and it’s cold but beautiful ❤️ I’ve taken the opportunity like a lot of us do mid way through the year to reset. Being a teacher means also always being a student and this month I’ve given myself the goal of being a student every day be that a yoga movement class (online because we’re in a lockdown), journaling, meditation (trying at least!) so I can grow as a teacher. Excited for the journey! Try something small each day and see where you can take yourself ive been recommended a great meditation app called which is great for beginners if you’re interested

For people joining class grab a folded up blanket or towel - it can help to sit on or pad the knees for some

Well Sydney, here we are, let’s hope it’s only two weeks. With the lockdown now in place I thought I’d run a class on my page for anyone who can make the time work, it will be 11 am Sunday 27 June Sydney time. Just logon to my page at 11am and it should work for you! Expect a gentle and accessible practice, and if you can’t make the live class it will be there for you to watch after. See you there!!

The struggle of the juggle! The simplest things with children can be the hardest; getting dressed, eating, getting out of the house. My patience has never been more challenged than as a mum. It’s so important to know and understand your own limits and how to get back to your normal. Deep breaths, talking to a friend, a quiet bath, walking, running, or whatever it is that helps you find you. So as we’re at the middle of the week i’m not going to wish you a happy hump day, im going to ask you to listen to yourself and do what you need to get to through your day ❤️ you are doing your best and you can do this ❤️

Happy International Day of Yoga 🧘‍♀️ WelI I had two teaching fails today which I think is ironic on a day that is meant for sharing yoga and celebrating it 🤦🏻‍♀️My practice was definitely challenged 🤣 However with the fails today I’ve learned a couple of things, I’ve reflected and I’m smiling and not beating myself up like I used to when things didn’t go to plan. This is when our practice comes to fruition, this is yoga and I’m grateful for it. Learnings lots, regrets none. How was your day?

Today’s Live video had sound issues so I’ve had to delete it 🤦🏻‍♀️
Sorry! I’ll post a practice for you tomorrow. I can’t help but laugh at the irony of me being unable to share yoga with you on International Day of Yoga 🤣
