Meet the Team!

We have the pleasure of introducing another new face, Kathiy who is our term 2 registrar at the practice.

Kathiy grew up in Newcastle and attended the James Cook University where she graduated with Distinction for her MBBS degree. Having gained experience through several hospitals in the Newcastle and Sydney area, Kathiy enjoys supporting patients in all stages of life.

Kathiy is enjoying her time at RTFP as she loves the practice and the people. She enjoys the medicine here as it is interesting and has a wide variety.

Outside of work you will find Kathiy:
⭐️ Spending time with family and friends
⭐️ Hiking
⭐️ Running
⭐️ Travelling

As of July, Kathiy will be moving on from RTFP to begin the next stage of her training and experience. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time with Kathiy and are grateful to have been part of her journey.

Allow us to introduce you to Ash, one of our new registrars at the practice.

Ash grew up in Tasmania before moving to Newcastle to study for her Bachelor of Medicine which she graduated with in 2021. After completing her residency in The Maitland Hospital she started with us in February.

Ashleigh enjoys her work with us at RTFP as she likes the supportive work environment at the practice and she enjoys the wide variety of medicine she sees here.

Meet the Team!

Bree has recently started with us at RTFP in our admin team and is trained as a Medical Practice Assistant.

Bree grew up in the Port Stephens area and has been working in the aged care industry. She decided to have a change as she wanted to work in a more diverse medical environment. Bree is excited to expand her clinical skills and to assist our team of GP's and nurses at the practice. She is particularly passionate about preventative health care.

Bree has been enjoying her work here at the practice as it "feels like a big family" and she enjoys the supportive nature of our team.

Outside of work you will find Bree:

Meet the Team!

Fiona has worked at the Raymond Terrace Family Practice for the last 16 years. She grew up in the surrounding area and began her training to become a nurse at The Maitland Hospital. Fi has an extensive operating theatre background from her work in the hospital.

Fi has been a member of staff here at RTFP since Feb 2010 and she enjoys the diverse range of medicine, as well as the ability to connect with the patients.

Meet the Team!

Damian has worked at the Raymond Terrace Family Practice for 30 years. He graduated from the University of Newcastle in 1992 with a Bachelor of Medicine, and after 4 years of hospital rotations, undertook GP training in Armidale and Singleton before finishing his training at RTFP. After his initial 12 months at the practice, he became a practice partner.

Damian decided to start a career in medicine as he enjoys helping people and is constantly amazed by biological science and how the body works. His passion for medicine is stoked by the diversity of people he cares for in Raymond Terrace, and the challenge of managing lots of different medical presentations here. He enjoys working with and amongst our mutually supportive and cohesive team for many reasons. He describes the team as fun and vibrant with a great dedication for high quality, evidence based patient care. Damian enjoys training our registrars, as it is rewarding and keeps him fresh.

Meet the Team!

Dr Kaiko is one of our 4 practice owner GPs at RTFP. After graduating at UON in 1984 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Liz's final placement was at RTFP, she has since been here over 35 years.

Liz has a strong interest in older person's health and chronic disease management however due to her extensive patient base and the in-depth nature of chronic disease management she is no longer taking on patients and is therefore not available for online bookings.

Liz enjoys working with the team at RTFP as she is surrounded by a great team of people who's values align to provide ethical, high quality health care.

Meet the Team!

Lucy is our newest receptionist at the Raymond Terrace Family Practice, she started with us during the Christmas period and has been enjoying her time here with our team.

Lucy was born and raised in the surrounding area and completed both a Certificate III and IV in Business Administration and a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) at TAFE. With some prior working experience in the Aged Care/Nursing industry, Lucy has a passion for the medical field.

Lucy enjoys her work here at the practice as she values the supportive team environment, she appreciates the opportunity to learn new skills and finds it rewarding to meet and connect with new people every day.

Outside of work you can find Lucy:

Our Flu Clinic's are open for Bookings!

All high risk groups receive a FREE vaccine, funded by the government, to prevent severe illness.

Who falls into the high risk group for the flu?

🔹People aged 65yrs and over
🔹All First Nations people aged 6months +
🔹Infants aged 6months upto 5yrs (see below for NEW vaccine option)
🔹Pregnant women
🔹People medically at risk due to chronic disease or other health conditions

This year, a nasal spray vaccine (Flu Mist) is available for patients aged from 2yrs upto 4yrs.

Although the above outlines people at the greatest risk, we do recommend that everyone aged 6months and over receive a Flu Vaccine. For patients not covered with a free vaccine from the government, we have standard private flu vaccines available for $20.
