The seventh edition of Mallee Living Histories was happily released in December 2025, celebrating another wonderful chapter in preserving our local stories. With Book 7, the collection has now grown to an impressive 104 stories.
This edition features three much-loved Jacaranda Village residents β€” Allan Tessier, Brendan Bell, and Evelyn Price β€” who kindly shared memories of their lives growing up and living in the Mallee. Over the year, they worked closely with their storytellers to bring these special moments to life. Allan’s story lovingly reflects on his life with his late wife Fay, Brendan shares memories of his passion for sport and time with the Victorian Railways, and Evelyn’s story offers a heartfelt look at a lifelong friendship.
Book 7 is a joyful reminder of the value of celebrating personal histories and community connections. Copies are available through the Lifestyles or Administration Team, or by visiting the Mallee Living Histories website –

What a wonderful day we had at our Cottage Christmas Party! Our annual Christmas luncheon was a truly enjoyable event, filled with warmth, laughter, and festive cheer.

A special thank you goes to the U3A choir for their beautiful performance. Their carols added an extra touch of Christmas spirit and created a joyful atmosphere that everyone appreciated.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the family members and friends who joined us on the day. Your presence made the celebration even more memorable.

From our Cottage family to yours, we wish you a very Merry Christmas!!

Wednesdays in The Manor have become a favourite for many residents, thanks to Beth’s much-loved cooking classes. The kitchen was buzzing again recently as residents rolled up their sleeves and learned how to make bow-tie pasta completely from scratch.
There was plenty of mixing, kneading, and rolling as Beth guided everyone through each step. Laughter filled the room as residents compared their pasta shapes and shared tips β€” and the end results were nothing short of fabulous. Best of all, the freshly made pasta was absolutely delicious.
Beth’s classes continue to be a highlight at The Manor, bringing Manor Residents together to learn new skills and enjoy great food.
The only question now is β€” what will Beth teach everyone next?
