The other day I caught myself saying,

“I have SO much to do — there’s just not enough time!”

But here’s the thing… I hadn’t even started yet.

I was already stressed — not because I was doing too much,
but because my mind was racing through imaginary problems, future tasks, and worst-case scenarios.

And that’s when it hit me;

So much of my time can get lost - not in action — but in thought…

The endless “what ifs,” mental to-do lists, and worry spirals steal more time than I realised

I’m not always busy — just mentally overloaded.

Since then, I’ve started asking myself in those moments;

Am I truly out of time… or just stuck in my head?

Those questions have really helped… By bringing me back to the now… And suddenly, time is my friend.

If you’ve been feeling like time is slipping away, or there is never enough time…
Perhaps it’s not your calendar that needs changing — maybe it’s your relationship with your thoughts on time!

Ever had one of those moments on a road trip where everything is going well… until it’s not?

That happened to us recently, somewhere in the middle of nowhere in far North Queensland. We trusted our GPS to lead us to the next petrol station — but when we got there, the station wasn’t there at all. (Isn’t it wild how often that still happens with GPS these days?)

Anyway, we were praying the next station was actually 75 km away, and our fuel gauge was right as it was showing 77 km left.

Not exactly a comfortable scenario and yes I was imagining being sun struck, thirsty, walking to get fuel….

And as we got about 20kms out we got stuck behind a truck and we had a flash of insight to get closer and DRAFT the truck!

Aka… where you follow closely to reduce wind resistance and save fuel.

Think of it like riding your bike behind a friend — when you’re tucked in behind them, it’s easier to pedal because they’re cutting through the wind for you.

And thank goodness it worked… as we rolled in with about 4 km to spare!

But beyond the relief and getting back on the road it got me thinking...

In life, we often find ourselves running low — not just on fuel, but on energy, patience, or motivation — especially when things don’t go as planned.

Our instinct is to panic or push harder. But sometimes, the smarter move is to go with the flow, adjust our approach, and conserve our energy.

Just like drafting behind that truck helped us stretch our fuel, finding ways to flow through life’s challenges can help us keep going without burning out…

BTW - I never got to thank the truck driver for his support… Here’s to the unexpected helpers along the way :)

Is Your Mind Still Running on Outdated Software?

Think about it… when your phone or computer runs on an old program, it lags, freezes, and can’t keep up with what you really want it to do.
