Introducing our newest member of the ARBRE team, Maria! Maria is a neuro-affirming speech pathologist with extensive experience supporting children and adolescents with diverse communication profiles. She believes that every person deserves support that honours their identity, autonomy, and preferred ways of communicating.

Maria works collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams to create supportive, strengths-based environments where communication can flourish. She uses a person-centred approach to deliver evidence-based practice, aiming to empower individuals to communicate in ways that feel authentic and meaningful to them.

Maria is Mum to one teenager and a cat who thinks he’s a dog. When she’s not working she loves hiking, reading, and coffee-related side quests.

Introducing our newest member of the ARBRE team, Elle!

Elle is a Psychologist who works with children, young people and their families across a range of emotional, behavioural and developmental needs. Elle completed her Masters in Educational and Developmental Psychology from QUT in 2024 and has enjoyed working across community child development services. She has experience working with children with developmental differences (e.g., ADHD, Autism) and connects with families using a strengths-based, family-centred approach.
Elle’s areas of practice include anxiety and depression, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, emotional regulation, learning differences, behavioural challenges, parenting support, school avoidance, self-esteem and social skills development. She takes a warm, creative and collaborative approach, with a strong focus on helping children feel safe, heard, and empowered to build confidence in their abilities. Outside of the clinic room, Elle enjoys going on nature walks, making art, refining her photography skills and going snorkelling.

Introducing our new ARBRE team member, Lauren!

Lauren Charrington is a speech pathologist who has worked in various paediatric settings, from private practice to specialist community child development and hospital teams. Throughout her career, Lauren has had the privilege of supporting children of all ages, from babies right up to teens with a wide range of communication profiles. Her special interests include child development, hearing loss and bilingualism.

Lauren takes a strengths-based, family-centred approach to speech pathology intervention and advocates strongly for children with communication challenges. She likes to work collaboratively with families and stakeholders to empower them in achieving their chosen goals. As a mum of 3, and a neurodivergent-affirming parent and clinician, Lauren values the importance of understanding a child’s needs and family system, harnessing their unique strengths, and building a supportive environment for them to thrive.

Welcoming our new ARBRE team member, Danica!

Danica is a Clinical Psychologist who has practised across a variety of settings with a range of ages and mental health presentations since 2015. Danica has extensive experience working with individuals and families experiencing complex mental health presentations and co-occurring issues. Danica is also a board approved supervisor.

One of Danica’s passion areas is working with families and young people. Danica aims to support families to build more close and connected relationships whilst maintaining a strengths focused, client as the expert, down to earth, trauma sensitive and neuro-affirming lens. Danica values feedback from clients to assist in creating the best possible outcomes from treatment.

Busy weeks can be tough on families and finding time to connect almost impossible. Using the routine of mealtimes is a great way to find time to talk, laugh and listen to each other.

Step One- Find a time to sit together for a meal
Step Two- Find an open-ended question to start a conversation (a question that can not be answered with yes or no)
Step Three-Allow each family member to have their say. Support active listening before asking the next person (have a fun way to pull up anyone who interrupts! Talking stick or a buzzer!)
