New OT Alert!!! 🌟

We’re so excited to welcome our newest senior OT, Hepsi 🎉 She is bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge!

👋 Hello! I’m Hepsi!
I’m originally from India, but have spent many years living and working in Singapore before making Australia my home.

I’m passionate about discovering each child’s unique strengths and understanding the barriers that shape their everyday participation. I enjoy working closely alongside parents, caregivers, educators, and multidisciplinary teams, believing that the best outcomes grow from genuine collaboration and trusted therapeutic relationships.

I’m also currently pursuing my PhD, bridging research and practice to create meaningful change in children’s
everyday lives.

Fun facts about me:
💗 Favourite colour: Pink
🐴 Favourite animal: Horse or Eagle
❄️ Favourite animated movie: Frozen
🍜 Favourite food: Asian cuisine

As OT’s at BBTH 🚀 we celebrate every brain and every way of being 🧠✨

Neurodiversity reminds us that differences aren’t deficits…. they’re strengths to be supported, understood, and celebrated 🌈

We love working alongside incredible families every day to support their children in ways that honour who they are — not change them! 👩🏼‍🤝‍👨🏽🧡

Lauren & Ingrid just wrapped up 3 days of learning at the Vestibular‑Visual Matters course 👩‍⚕️📚 A massive thankyou to .ca from Relationship Matters!!

An intensive deep dive into the development and integration of the vestibular and visual systems — and how these systems work together to support posture, movement, regulation, learning and everyday function.

Always investing in learning so we can bring the best evidence-based strategies back to the kids and families we support 💛✨

✨ our new mini series is here… Feeding February!!

Mealtimes can feel big for little people, and that’s okay! Sometimes behaviour around food is your child’s way of telling you something feels tricky!

As OTs we can unpack the underlying signs
your child might benefit from extra feeding support 👀👩🏼‍🤝‍👨🏽

Feeding challenges could be related to:

🔸 Sensory Processing
🔹 Oral-Motor functioning
🔸 Emotional & Regulation thresholds
🔹 Participation/avoidance

When we understand the “why” behind feeding challenges, we can help make mealtimes safer, calmer, and more enjoyable for everyone at the table 🍽️😊

👉 Swipe to learn more about what are some things to look out for, as well as what feeding support with an OT can look like!

Back to school or starting for the first time can bring big feelings 💛🌀

If you’re noticing increased meltdowns, dysregulation or heightened emotions…. you’re not alone. This is super normal as little bodies and brains adjust to new routines, demands and environments.

Gnasher has some great simple regulation activities you can try at home:

🫧 Blowing bubbles (or candle fingers)
🌯 Burrito rolls (wrap in a blanket)
🤼 Tug of war
🛏️ Pillow squishes (any size will do!)
🐾 Animal or wheelbarrow walks
🧩 Putty (try and find hidden objects)
💆‍♀️ Deep pressure massages
🥨 Crunchy snacks for oral sensory input

Connection before Correction!! 🧡
