Skip the Spinal Load — Let’s Carry Instead

I prefer carrying weights over loading your spine with heavy squats or barbell deadlifts - I err on the side of caution when it comes to loading/ compressing my spine!!

Here’s the deal👇🏽

Your spine is incredibly strong — but it’s not invincible. Repeatedly loading it with compressive force (like in back squats or heavy overhead presses) can increase the risk of injury, especially if your core isnt stongAF or you lose form due to fatigue.

Instead, I love loaded carries — think trap bar squats, Olympic bar deadlifts, kettlebell sumo squats & kettlebell farmer’s carries…Why?

💥 Build REAL functional strength
💥 Improve grip strength, core stability & posture
💥 Joint-friendly but still HARD work
💥 Functional way to condition the whole body — SAFELY! 💯🫶

Remember, strength isn’t just about how much you can lift off the floor — it’s about how well your body moves under load. 🙌💯❤️

Warm up: High reps with the trap bar (30kg), then - load her on up! 💪💥

Repeated spinal compression (especially under heavy load) can lead to:

⚠️ Disc degeneration
⚠️ Nerve impingement
⚠️ Loss of spinal mobility
⚠️ Chronic lower back pain
⚠️ Increased injury risk as we age
