Tips to stay healthy this Festive season

🥗Include mixed salads/veggies on the Christmas lunch/dinner table
🥑Add fruit to desserts
💧Alternate water with alcoholic beverages
🍎Try to avoid over eating – keep some leftover to have the next day!
🏋Try to get some movement in

The festive season is here! The most wonderful time of the year. We have some tips to help you stay healthy this festive season.

Including fruit/veg with meals and snacks helps to regulate our appetite. They are also a great way to add beautiful pops of colour and texture to your meals!

Keeping hydrated is a must during the warmer months but particularly when alcohol is involved. Consider keeping non alcoholic hydrating fluids available between drinks such as lightly flavoured mineral water or soda water. Or try some festive mocktails for other non alcoholic options.

Try to listen to your body's cues when consuming a meal or snack. When you start to feel full, try to avoid pushing past the point where you feel comfortable. If there are leftovers on your plate save them for later in the day or the next day! YUM

Try to keep active wherever you can. A short walk after Christmas lunch or dinner can aid digestion and help keep you feeling energised.

Most of all, stay safe and enjoy the company of those around you. Enjoy your favourite foods in moderation, there is no need to avoid them!

Christmas mocktail recipe 2 🍸

A very berry Christmas
1/4 cup Strawberries
1/4 cup Watermelon
Tsp Lime juice
½ tsp Honey/maple
½ cup Sparkling water
1 handful Ice

Method
Add strawberries, watermelon, lime, honey, sparkling water and ice into a blender. Blend until smooth.

1 tbsp sugar free green lime cordial
½ cup sugar free ginger ale
½ cup sparkling water
Tsp lime juice
1 handful ice

Method
Add cordial to a glass. Pour ginger ale, lime juice and sparkling water into the glass and stir. Add ice

The first Tuesday in November, when the country pauses for the Melbourne Cup! Whether you’re trackside at Flemington, watching from the office (like us), or celebrating with friends at a local venue, today’s all about fashion, fun and of course world-class racing.

This year’s Cup promises fierce competition, incredible stories from trainers, jockeys, and the magnificent horses who make it all possible. Beyond the glamour and excitement, it’s also a chance to celebrate one of Australia’s longest-running traditions, a race that’s been uniting people since 1861.

As we cheer on the field, let’s take a moment to appreciate the athleticism, spirit, and care that go into every horse’s journey and to support ongoing efforts to ensure their wellbeing both on and off the track.

🎃 Spooky season is wrapping up… and the Christmas rush is just around the corner! 🎄

As the cobwebs and costumes get packed away, many of us start feeling the whirlwind of the festive season... Busy schedules, longer days and a dash (or two) of stress.

For those working in or visiting allied health services, this time of year can bring unique challenges. Between end-of-year deadlines, school holidays and festive commitments, it’s easy to let self-care slip through the cracks. But remember, your health and wellbeing are just as important as your to-do list.

💡 A few reminders as we head into the holiday rush:

Plan ahead: Book your physio, EP, Diet, Massage or podiatry appointments early, spots fill up fast before the holidays!

Check in with yourself: Whether it’s your posture, pain levels or mental health, now’s the time to address those niggles before the year ends.

Stay consistent: Don’t let the festive season undo your hard work! Keep up with your exercises and treatment plans.

My Health Team

My Health Team was born from Andrew and Mark’s frustrations of not being able to fix everything with our clients. Not many of us have just the one problem when they come to see us. We often have multiple different issues that need to be addressed. It’s a lot better when someone sees the expert for each problem.

We became disillusioned from sending clients to other types of providers to get other aspects of their health fixed. Often this encounted delays in accessing other services and break down in communication, leading to longer heeling times.

We firmly believe that when a client walks in for treatment, they’re not just getting the injury treated, we are restoring their lifestyle and getting them back to what they love to do pain free.
