In yoga postures many of us will encounter limitations with our knees. This mini-series is a learning opportunity to find ways to move forward with intelligent understanding of the asana and solutions to the knee limitation at the same time.
This series is suitable for those with at least 3 months of Iyengar yoga experience. It will be very helpful whether you have perfectly healthy knees that you want to keep strong and happy as you move into more challenging poses, or if you have knee restrictions, limitations, or weakness that you wish to improve. Also very suitable for teachers seeking to improve their ability to assist students with poses that can challenge the knees.
Not suitable in acute situations when the knee is newly or seriously injured or in a very deteriorated state requiring a therapy session.

When we get together as a group, we see and feel a collective energy that is unique to the workings of an intensive and the inspiration this creates. It is here that we play the edges of practise individually and collectively and spring is an ideal and wonderful time for this.

Schedule: Friday 6.00-7.30 PM, Saturday 7.30-9.30 AM and 3.30-5.30 PM, Sunday 9.00-11.00 AM.

Attend Level: *General and Experienced (*at least 2 years regular yoga)

In Stephanie’s third workshop, we will work with the concept of ''alambha'', which means to seize, take hold, lead, guide and bring direction. It also means foundation or support that offers stability and strength. In our asana practice we are familiar with Salambha Sirsasana and Salambha Sarvangasana, where arms support the lift of the shoulders and the spine. But alambha equally applies when we are being supported by the floor, walls, ropes and chairs. Some interpretations associate alambha with wisdom, good judgment, and a discerning nature.

Come along and explore the important role of álambha in your yoga practice.

Anyone with a couple of years of Iyengar yoga experience is very welcome. Also great for teachers and trainees.
