It is the natural brainwave state we all experience daily, just before we wake and just as we fall into sleep. Being hypnotised, is the act of taking someone, via visualisation and relaxation techniques, down through their brainwave cycles until they reach this state, referred to as the "Theta" brainwave state. Here, as hypnotherapists, we can then access and work with the sub-conscious mind to br
ing about extensive, rapid and lasting change. Unlike traditional forms of therapy that only work with the conscious mind, clinical hypnotherapy works with the sub-conscious mind to locate the "root" cause of problems and deal with them on a sub-conscious level. As a result, the "conscious symptoms" being suffered by a client, are often removed quickly, effectively and usually... permanently! The New York Times reports: "Hypnotherapy is the epitome of mind-body medicine. It can enable the mind to tell the body how to react, and modify the messages that the body sends to the mind." Clinical hypnotherapy uses suggestion, regression and integration therapies to find, neutralize and remove the problem, often entirely; and is a much quicker, easier and far more successful approach in dealing with so many of the issues people face today. In fact, a study analysis conducted by Alfred A. found hypnosis to have a 93% success rate, with fewer sessions needed, than both behavioural therapy and psychotherapy. Hypnosis is a science that has been used for centuries, and when combined with therapy - has had much scientifically proven, documented success, treating everything from pain management to weight loss, from addiction to immune function, from increasing self-confidence to eliminating fears and phobias, and in helping to overcome depression, stress, guilt, trauma and anxiety disorders.
