A big thank you to Larry for his incredible generosity.

Larry came across our website and, after feeling our work was authentic, decided to support us in a very special way. He personally prepared and donated over 30 hamper bags filled with snacks, canned drinks, socks, and underwear.

On his own free time, he even drove down from Guildford on a Saturday morning, delivered them to our warehouse, and helped unload everything himself.

All these generous donations will go directly into our food run program and support many families who need it most.

Larry prefers to stay private, but we’re so grateful for his kindness and for keeping our charity in mind for future donations.

Our team of volunteers is up early preparing for our fortnightly food run. We’re packing two weeks’ worth of groceries and delivering them right to the doorsteps of families across Sydney who need a helping hand.

Every delivery includes fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, pantry staples, baby items, and essential household goods to ease the load for families doing it tough.

This week our dedicated team of volunteers are busy at the Giving Back Australia warehouse packing food hampers to ensure every approved family on our food run program receives their fortnightly groceries. Each hamper is filled with fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, fresh chicken, fresh meat, pantry staples, sanitiser products, baby needs, and so much more.

All of this will be delivered right to families’ doorsteps this Saturday, helping to ease the burden and bring support where it’s needed most. None of this would be possible without our incredible volunteers and the generosity of our supporters.

One of our wonderful volunteers at Giving Back Australia always brings her children along when she helps. She knows that kids learn more from what we do than what we say. By watching their mum give her time and energy to support families in need, they’re learning kindness, compassion, and the importance of helping others.

Parents who lead by example shape the next generation. When children see charity and giving back as a normal part of life, they grow up carrying those same values in their hearts. 💙

Our Story

THE DREAM

Australia is a country that offers many opportunities to its citizens, hence many do not see those who are in desperate need of help just to put food on the table for their children. A couple in the city of Bankstown; itself was known as the most multicultural city in Australia, saw there was a gap in the support offered to families who struggle to purchase food to eat. In 2015 a dream was born to feed the hungry, help the afflicted, and lighten the sorrow of all peoples in the community. As Australian Muslims, they wanted to spread peace and hope through a unified love while breaking down the walls of bigotry, and racism; helping all, regardless of race, color, or religion. Wanting to give back to the country they both loved, together they approached several businesses for sponsorship. Once they found a butcher to provide starving families with fresh meat, and a green-grocer agreeing to provide fresh fruit and vegetable this same couple started a page, and Giving Back Australia was born. Operating out of a garage together this couple began putting together food packs and delivering fresh meat, fruit, and vegetables from the boot of their car; they began delivering food to the door of needy families throughout Sydney. Today Giving Back Australia runs several programs from supplying food, to assistance with utility bills through to a getting of drugs program.
