đŁ NDIS Changes to Allied Health Pricing â Effective Today
From today, the NDIS has introduced major changes to the pricing of allied health services with just 3 weeksâ notice and no consultation with the sector. These changes include:
đ» A $10 per hour cut to many allied health therapy rates following a 5+ year price freeze
â The removal of the regional loading that helped rural and remote providers cover the additional costs of service delivery
âïž A 50% cut to travel reimbursement rates, significantly impacting providers who travel to deliver care
Despite substantial advocacy by the Australian Physiotherapy Association and other stakeholders, these changes have been enforced without delay.
For clientsâespecially those who live rurally or require home visitsâthis new pricing structure will place considerable pressure on providers. It challenges the long-term sustainability of mobile and outreach services, unfairly disadvantaging the most vulnerable in our community.
đ§ While our NDIS services will continue as usual for now, our team is currently reviewing the sustainability of service delivery under the new pricing model and developing strategies to mitigate the impact and maintain viability in this space. Our priority remains ensuring ongoing access to high-quality care for our NDIS clients.
