We are seeking a warm, professional, and highly organised Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team Wednesday to Friday each week. If you enjoy supporting patients, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and being a calming presence at the front desk, we’d love to hear from you.

✨ About the Role

As our Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients visiting or phoning the practice. Your responsibilities will include:

Greeting patients and managing check‑in and check‑out
Answering and directing phone calls in a busy medical environment
Scheduling patient appointments and managing the appointment diary
Handling Medicare, DVA and private billing
Processing payments and issuing receipts
Maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and a welcoming atmosphere

We are thrilled to introduce Jarrod Hales, our new visiting podiatrist! 👣

Jarrod Hales is a podiatrist with over 10 years experience in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic rehabilitation, managing everything from everyday foot and ankle pain through to post surgical and WorkCover cases.

He has a long standing connection to the Riverland. His grandfather was the captain of the Marion paddle steamer, and his family has had a river shack locally for more than 40 years.

Jarrod will be consulting in clinic every six weeks, with telehealth consultations available in between. Through BackRoad Health, he provides practical, outcomes focused podiatry care with an emphasis on clear advice, structured rehabilitation, and helping people return to confident movement.

📢 Important Billing Update – Effective 1 March 2026

From 1 March 2026, Renmark Medical Clinic will be moving to bulk billing all standard consultations for all patients who hold a current Medicare Card.

This means eligible patients will have no out‑of‑pocket fees for standard Medicare‑covered consultations.

❗ Services Not Covered by Bulk Billing

The following services will continue to incur a gap fee for non-health care card and non-pension card holders:

🩺 Procedures & Clinical Services

- Skin procedures

- Biopsies

- Removal of lesions

- Dressings not attended to by a doctor

- Routine requests via HotDoc (administrative, non‑urgent requests)

- Services provided by a Specialist or 3rd party that consults from the Renmark Medical Clinic

📄 Non‑Medicare Services

Medical assessments for:

- Employment

- Insurance

- Commercial Driver’s licence

- Other non‑Medicare purposes

💼 Work-Related Services

- WorkCover consultations

🚫 Attendance-Related Fees

- No‑show fees

- Late cancellation fees

🧾 Patients Without a Medicare Card

- All patients without a valid Medicare card will be privately billed.

❓Why do we ask for your credit card to be held when booking on Hot Docs?

Renmark Medical Clinic use financial organisation Stripe, when using the HotDoc platform to process payments on behalf of the practice.

Stripe, is Level 1 certified with the Payment Card Industry – Data Security Standards. As a result, your card details, expiry, CVV codes and data are secure and will never be visible or stored with HotDoc or the practice.

Renmark Medical Clinic prefer that patients enter their credit card details in advance which will then confirm their appointment via HotDoc and show on our booking list their details are held.

Completing the card details also shows the patient is confirming they are happy to pay the required fee as all information is provided at the time of booking.

It also provides convenience for paying patients as they can have their visit processed electronically.

As a clinic we are trying to manage patients not attending appointments, so that the appointments can be available for other patients.❓❓

🔎 SKIN CHECK

🌟Why do we ask for your credit card to be held when booking on HotDoc?
Our skin cancer screening clinics are a premium service which allow you to have your skin check locally, rather than travelling to the city which is very costly. These are long consultations that poorly funded by Medicare and take our Doctors away from regular consulting. As such, we charge a private fee (a gap) to ensure this is a sustainable service.
Historically many patients have either failed to attend appointments or refused to pay the gap. We now ask that patients use Hotdocs to confirm their appointment, confirm that they are aware that there is a fee associated with this service and enter their credit card details in advance to secure the booking and have their visit processed electronically. The use of this process via Hotdocs has drastically reduced the rate non-attendance and has ensured that many more people have had their skin cancer screening performed.
If you have any problems using this system, please talk to our helpful reception staff.

🌟ABOUT SKIN CHECKS
A skin check is one of the best ways to detect and prevent skin cancers. Skin checks generally take 20-30 minutes to complete, and during that time, your doctor will examine your whole body. If your doctor finds a suspicious spot on your skin, they may rebook you to remove it or perform a biopsy (removing a small sample of tissue for detailed examination at a laboratory).

As our Skin Clinic is a premium service, a fee of $175 applies to all patients. This is not a bulk-billed service. Cancellations within 4 hours’ notice or appointments not attended will incur a $120.00 fee. These fees are not Medicare claimable and will be deducted from your held credit card.

What to expect in your skin check consultation:
• Please don’t wear any make-up, nail varnish, or tanning products.
• Unless attending for a specific lesion/spot of concern, a full skin check is recommended.
• When the doctor calls you into the consultation room, they will ask you some questions regarding your history, previous excisions, occupation, level of sun exposure, and frequency of sun protection.
• Your doctor will ask you if you have any spots of concern.
• Generally these skin checks are performed with you leaving your underwear on. Your doctor will ask if you are comfortable to undress to your underwear. You can leave on extra clothing if you feel more comfortable that way.
• With your consent, your doctor will examine all areas of concern.
• There are modesty sheets and chaperones available.
• Your doctor will begin a systematic approach using a screening examination light and a dermatoscope to cover all areas.
• Your doctor may lightly palpate each lesion for additional clues.
• If following up from a previous melanoma, your doctor may check your liver and lymph nodes (neck, armpits, and groin).
• Cryotherapy may be applied to suitable lesions; these lesions will turn red and may blister. Please let your doctor know if this is an issue for any lesion, and a follow-up consultation for this can be arranged at a suitable time.
• Depending on your level of risk you will be entered into our recall list to ensure follow up skin checks are arranged.
• If your require a lesion to be excised, this will be rebooked on a separate time and the doctor will provide you with an information/consent form for you to read before the procedure. ❔Did you know Renmark Medical Clinic provide bulk billing services❔

If you hold a current concession card or are a child under the age of 16 your consultation will be bulk billed.

Patients who have a Chronic Disease, are placed on a management plan. This will give you 3 monthly appointments with your blue folder. These appointments are bulk billed, you do not need to hold a current concession card to qualify.

Patients who also qualify for Health Assessments and Healthy Heart checks will also be bulk billed.
