Congatulations to our optometrist Linda Nguyen for being invited to the annual national Hesta Excellence Awards this week and placing as a finalist for Individual Leadership in Allied Health.

The awards night in Melbourne recognised outstanding achievers across healthcare and community services. The individual leadership award recognises individuals who have demonstrated innovative and impactful leadership in delivering initiatives to enhance the health and wellbeing of individuals, families and/or communities.

We are so proud of Linda and all of her efforts that led to this amazing achievement💙👓

NAIDOC Week 2025
This week, we join in celebrating the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week represents a time for all Australians to reflect, learn, and honour the deep and enduring connection First Nations peoples have with this land.

Over the past 20 years, our optometrist has had the opportunity to work with First Nations communities across Australia—from Katherine and Tennant Creek in NT to regional NSW towns like Brewarrina, and now focusing on our local Bankstown community. It’s been a privilege to help provide accessible eye care and connect with such strong, diverse, and resilient communities.

It was our first time exhibiting at a Disability Connection Expo, and day 1 went off with a bang! 🎇
So glad we were able to reach out to so many participants and awesome support providers like spottherapyhub 💙.

We talked about the way in which we can provide inclusive eye care for those with disability and how a mobile optometry service can make regular eye checkups a lot easier for patients.

Happy International Woman’s Day ! 💜 Today we celebrate all women, but in particular we would like to pay special recognition to the mums, daughters, sisters and wives who provide endless caregiving support to their families with special medical needs. 💜

Care Optometry is also proud to announce that our optometrist Linda Nguyen was awarded Community Woman of the Year 2025 for work in inclusive and compassionate eyecare for patients with disabilities and complex medical issues in the community. 🥳 More work needs to be done in this space and we look forward to assisting more clients this year.
