Our Community Defib Fundraiser was a huge success! We are peoud to announce that we have successfully raised enough funds for a Community Defib to be installed out the front of our service.

Thank you to the below businesses for their generous donations towards our fundraiser, as well as our families for their donations and support. We couldn't have done it without you. We are so grateful for our Oakville Community.

🍲 Cooking up some first phrases? Here’s what your little one needs in the mix:

Ingredients
🥄 Nouns: names of things (dog, ball, mummy)
🥄 Verbs: action words (go, eat, jump)
🥄 Describing words: size, colour, feelings (big, red, happy)
🥄 A reason to talk! Something fun, exciting, or tricky that makes them want to communicate
🥄 A patient listener: that’s you 💛

👉 When kids have a few of these ‘ingredients’, they can start mixing them together:
💬 “Big truck!”
💬 “Eat apple!”
💬 “Mummy go work!”

Just like baking, every child stirs things together in their own time. But if you feel like your little one isn’t quite getting their words to stick, we’re always here for a check-in 😊

Not sure if your little one needs a Speech Pathology assessment?

Here are a few signs that it may be worth checking in with a Speech Pathologist:
🔹They are not making any sounds by 6 months
🔹They don’t respond to their name
🔹They’re not using many words (or any) by around 18 months
🔹They get frustrated trying to tell you things
🔹Other kids their age seem to be talking much more

Of course, every child develops at their own pace, however if you’ve got a gut feeling your child may need support, it’s always ok to ask.

Early support makes a world of difference 🩵
