A big Richmond Rehab update 💙

Tomorrow is Nathan Rogerson’s last day at the clinic.

Nathan has been a pivotal part of our massage team over the past two years. He’s brought a calm presence, high standards, and genuine care for the people he’s worked with — and we’re very grateful for everything he’s contributed to the clinic.

This year Nathan has been studying Exercise Science at Swinburne University, and he’s now been accepted into the Bachelor of Physiotherapy at James Cook University in Townsville.

We’re sorry to see him leave Richmond Rehab, but we’re genuinely thrilled he’s pursuing his passion for healthcare. Nathan is going to be a fantastic physiotherapist, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for him.

Thanks Nathan — and all the best up north 🌿

The Australian Open has arrived, and every year we see the same thing in the clinic: a sudden surge of people inspired to dust off a racquet, book a court, and attempt shots their shoulders haven’t practised since 2014.

If you’re jumping back into tennis this month, here are a few simple ways to keep your body happy and avoid the common early-season injuries:

• Ease into serving volume. Shoulders don’t love going from zero to overhead power in one afternoon.
• Build some lower-body strength. Tennis demands quick shifts, lunges and direction changes. Controlled practice goes a long way.
• Warm up your spine and hips. A few minutes of rotation and mobility helps reduce post-match stiffness.
• Listen to any early niggles. Tennis elbow, shoulder tightness and low back irritation respond best when you address them early, not after a month of pushing through.

If you’re getting back on court and something doesn’t feel quite right, we’re here to help you stay moving well throughout the Open and beyond.

Our Story

Richmond Rehab is an evolution of Richmond Remedial which operated from Fitness First for over 10yrs. Now working in conjunction with various health professionals in the inner east, Richmond Rehab strives for excellence in Physiotherapy, Myotherapy & Pilates.

Our aim is to provide straight forward advice and information that helps give you a clearer picture on injuries, musculoskeletal imbalances, ways to keep pain free, and even exercise advice. Our broad range of clientele gives our therapists excellent exposure to many different types of injury and we love to impart any knowledge that we have on to our clients.

We believe that this exchange of information is what sets us apart from the crowd... We don't have all the answers and neither do you, but together we believe we think we can make real differences in your body's function and performance.
