Wolf & Birch Wellness is the creation of Fiona Meiklejohn (BHSc (Nutritional Medicine), RP II). Fiona is a passionate advocate for self-empowerment through health and healing, and incorporates Holistic Nutrition, Holistic Counselling, Health and Lifestyle Coaching, Reiki and Meditation/Mindfulness Coaching to offer a personalised and self-actualising path to wellness of body, mind and spirit. Her

lifelong devotion to natural therapies began as a teenager, particularly around nutrition and mind-body medicine. She began courses in Naturopathy in the 90s, ultimately choosing to specialise in Nutritional Medicine, in which she completed her Bachelor degree in 2008. She has practiced in Melbourne and Byron Bay, and has gradually been drawn to a more holistic and personalised form of wellness practice, in particular focusing on the root mental and emotional causes of chronic physical symptoms. As well as her Bachelor Degree in Health Science she recently completed a course at Harvard Medical School in Health and Wellness/Nutrition and short courses on the gut biome and food psychology. She is currently completing her Practitioner Certificate in Holistic Counseling and is a certified Reiki practitioner (Level 2). She firmly believes that true health goes beyond just the physical - it encompasses your mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Through personalised and holistic nutrition and counseling, mindfulness coaching and Reiki healing, she is here to support you every step of the way, whether you're looking to improve your eating habits, or manage stress, or to find overall balance in your life. 🍁 Autumnal Equinox - March 21st, 1.46pm AEDT 🍁

The Equinoxes mark a shimmer of balance in the turning of the seasons, when day and night are of equal length as the Sun crosses the celestial equator.

After this, the days begin to shorten, the nights to lengthen, and the peaceful darkness of Winter approaches.

Traditionally, this Equinox marks the second harvest, a time of gathering fruits, grains, and seeds, storing what will sustain life through the colder months.

Nowadays, it gives us time for a moment of gratitude for the abundance of our beautiful Earth, and an acknowledgment that the cycles of Nature - of bounty and lack, of fire and ice, of life and death - continue turning.

The work now is to gather, cleanse, store, and prepare for the slowing down of the seasons and the introspective reflection of the Winter months.

Take a moment to stop, breathe and thank yourself for growing, evolving … and for just being.

Sometimes it’s the deep, dark spaces in between the toil and the sweat that give us the most clarity.

Healing fatigue can hit you out of the blue.

You’re doing all the right things. You’re changing your life. You’re following the course. Suddenly you hit a point of tiredness so deep you can barely focus on daily life let alone the healing work.

I call it “Healing Fatigue”. It can be brutal, discouraging and frustrating af.

But good news … this isn’t bad!

In fact exhaustion during healing and growth is usually a sign you’re doing everything right and that transformation is happening.

Your nervous system is rewiring. Your brain is recalibrating.

And guess what they need to do this properly?
�Rest. Peace. Calm. Stillness.

The deepest integration happens when you allow your system to stabilise. Your exhaustion is a clear sign from your body that it’s receiving your new instructions, but just needs some time and space to embody them.

You can’t force change my friend. It’s not called a journey for nothing!

Life in the concrete jungle is stressful—there’s no denying it!

We’re constantly juggling responsibilities, bombarded with information, and expected to be ON all the time. Our nervous systems weren’t designed for this level of pressure, yet we push through, ignoring the signs—fatigue, anxiety, burnout.

But here’s the truth: you can’t pour from an empty cup.

Wellbeing and self-care aren’t luxuries, they are necessities. Rest is productive. Taking time for yourself—whether it’s a deep breath, a walk in nature, or a moment of stillness—is an act of self-preservation, not indulgence.

Prioritise your peace. Nourish your body. Honor your mind. Protect your energy.

Most of the amazing people in this photo and I share 30+ years of history together, with all the emotions and events and life experiences that entails.

I listened to an amazing podcast over the weekend about how dramatically isolation technology (online chatting, shopping, streaming etc) is reshaping how we live, work, and connect, and how the cost to our mental and physical well-being is far outweighing the convenience and innovation.

I tend to be a bit of a lone wolf and feel safest, happiest and most relaxed when I’m alone at home, which is a very common thing amongst AuDHD women. Honestly, supermarket delivery is the greatest invention of all time imho! 😂

However, spending time with this crew over the weekend reminded me that human connection isn’t just a nice-to-have—it’s essential!!

Studies show that meaningful relationships reduce stress, boost immunity, and even extend lifespan. Our spirits thrive when we share, laugh, and truly feel seen.

Even just a simple conversation or a quick hug can make a difference and remind us of our shared humanity.

I guess balance is key—embrace technology, but never at the expense of authentic connection.

A good reminder to myself!
