What will be discussed during the consultation?

During your consultation, Dr Ricketts will listen to your concerns and ask you what you wish to change. She will then examine you and will discuss the following:

◾The procedure that you are most likely to benefit from and what’s involved
◾Expected results after the surgery. This may include 3D photography of you with the Vectra™ and some computer simulations to help you understand and visualise what is realistically possible
◾Risks and complications of the surgery
◾Length of surgery, length of hospital stay and recovery time
◾You will then be introduced to her assistant, who will give you an estimate of fees and possible scheduling.

If you want to proceed, you can book any time after this first consultation.

Why consider a rhinoplasty?

People come along for rhinoplasty for different reasons. Sometimes concerned about how their nose looks and that might have been because they have had an injury in the past, or it might just be that they were born that way. Others come because they don’t breathe well, and others still may have a combination of both.

Rhinoplasty addresses two things: cosmesis (the look of your nose) as well as function (how well you breathe).

It is important that these things are considered together. If you have problems with both, then we can make them both better. If you have a cosmetic concern only, we can’t compromise your breathing and vice versa.

What is the down-time for Breast Reduction?

The hospital stay is usually just one night. Recovery is around two to three weeks. Return to full, high-impact exercise is six weeks, but less vigorous exercise can commence well before that.

Resting and recuperating is a vital aspect of any recovery period.

Dr Sophie Ricketts offers breast lift surgery (Mastopexy) tailored to your individual needs, helping you achieve the shape and size you're aiming for.

How long will my face lift last?

There are many factors that determine the longevity of a face lift, including at what age you have it, your skin quality at the time, and the technique used.

A good face lift should not only reverse the effects of time, but slow the future effects of aging.

On average though, you should expect to see up to 10 years benefit from a face lift.

The Practice

As a specialist plastic surgeon, my practice comprises both reconstructive and cosmetic surgery utilising contemporary techniques. I am passionate about aesthetic and reconstructive facial surgery and undertook further subspecialist training in this field. I also derive great satisfaction from assisting patients achieve the best version of themselves and offer a highly qualified service in breast and body surgery. My team of support staff and nurses help me provide a wholistic, professional service where realistic outcomes are achieved with care and compassion.

I also hold specialist consultant plastic surgery positions at The Alfred and St Vincent’s Hospitals in Melbourne. I am also an active volunteer with Interplast, a not-for-profit whose mission is to ‘repair bodies and rebuild lives’ by providing surgical services to patients as well as mentorship and teaching to local surgeons in areas of the Asia Pacific.
