Kinematics Health & Performance

Kinematics Health & Performance At Kinematics, we provide a complete and progressive approach to the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of muscular and skeletal issues.

At Kinematics, we provide a collaborative and progressive approach to optimising your health and performance by combining physiotherapy, osteopathy, podiatry, myotherapy, biomechanical analysis, remedial massage, sports medicine, nutrition, clinical exercise + pilates, and strength + conditioning services. Kinematics is conveniently located in the Melbourne suburb of Richmond, where we offer the h

ighest quality of holistic health services. Our clinicians assess functional and sport specific biomechanics (movements) of the whole body in order to identify areas of imbalance. If not addressed, these imbalances and poor mechanics can often lead to secondary compensations in the body and cascade on to cause other injuries. This holistic, full-body approach provides an effective treatment plan for not only the presenting issue but also the underlying primary cause. Therefore reducing the risk of persistence and re-occurrence of the injury or condition. Whether your goal is to become pain free, increase sporting fitness and performance, or improve general mobility and wellbeing, the team at Kinematics are here to help!

Not injured but still wondering if physio is for you? The answer is yes, and here’s why 👇🏼💃

1️⃣ Whole body check-in
We look at how everything moves together first, not just one area in isolation.
2️⃣ Find your weak links
Core, hips, ankles… sometimes it’s one small gap holding back your turns, jumps, or relevé.
3️⃣ Break down your dance skills
Pirouettes, jetés, pointe work 🩰 We strip it back and rebuild it so it actually works for your body.

Then we put it all back together so your movement feels smoother, stronger, and more consistent in the studio ✨

So what does holistic treatment actually look like in a real scenario? 🤔

Most practitioners treat shoulder injuries by only looking at the shoulder, neck and upper back but completely ignore everything below, even though the movement of your foot and hip directly drives what happens at your shoulder.

At Kinematics, our osteopaths and physiotherapists work together so nothing gets missed. Each discipline makes the other stronger and that means better, longer lasting outcomes for you. 🙌

This is what integrated, holistic care looks like in practice. ✨

Dancers, meet Jess 👯

Jess is one of our physios AND a current dance teacher who has run her own studio 👀 So when she says she understands what it’s like to push through an injury because sitting out isn’t an option, she truly means it.

Jess specialises in keeping dancers dancing. Whether you’re dealing with a minor ache, a bigger injury or working towards en pointe, she’ll build a plan that works around your training, not against it.

Your body and your dance teacher will thank you 💪

Behind every great clinic is a team that never stops learning ✨📚

A few weeks ago we hosted an external practitioner PD on managing complex cases. A night full of insight, clinical depth, and real-world reasoning with Dr. Jim Webb 🧠💡

We loved having such a diverse crowd in the room, from GPs, physios and osteos to EPs, myotherapists and naturopaths.

At Kinematics, our ambition is to be a light on the hill for our industry which means sharing what we know, not gatekeeping it. By lifting the standard together, we can create a far greater impact for the people we care for 🫶

Why are we treating your feet for shoulder pain? 🤯👣

Because your shoulder does not function in isolation

Restrictions in your feet, pelvis, diaphragm, as well as your jaw and neck, can all influence how your shoulder moves and loads ⚙️

That is why our osteopaths take a whole body approach, using soft tissue and fascia techniques to restore optimal movement 🧠✨

If you only treat the symptom, the pain is likely to return, but when you address the underlying cause, meaningful and lasting change can occur 🔁💥

Ready to move pain free again? 💪
