Introducing Anj, who's a Senior Clinical Psychologist in the team.
Here are a few things that guide her work and the way she connects with clients:
🌿 Special interests: Autism, ADHD, twice-exceptionality, and supporting young people, teenagers, and their families. She’s also passionate about working with clients who have had forensic challenges in their lives.

🌿 What she values in therapy: Honesty, trust, openness and transparency, which are the foundations of any meaningful therapeutic relationship.

🌿 Professional values: Curiosity, integrity, honesty, and the humility to know that being the therapist doesn’t mean having all the answers.

🌿 Favourite quote: “You can do anything you put your mind to.” Simple, but powerful.

🌿 Favourite book: "The Wave", a story that challenged her perspective and encouraged questioning what is labelled “normal”.

We love having clinicians who bring heart, curiosity and grounded honesty into their work 🤍

A reminder that growth isn’t about becoming different. It’s about returning to and building on who we already are.
Therapy work is about creating space for us to connect with ourselves, with honesty, compassion, and care. 🌿

Every child and their development is unique. Child psychology helps understand what each child needs to feel secure, confident, and capable. It also helps identify mental health conditions such as anxiety, learning difficulties, or developmental delays early. With early identification of challenges, it helps early intervention, which has indications for improved prognosis.

🌿 Olivia has a special interest in anxiety-related concerns such as panic disorder and agoraphobia. She also loves working with body image and eating-related difficulties, including body dysmorphia. Passionate about exploring attachment and relational patterns, she finds great meaning in supporting neurodivergent clients as well.

🍃 Safety and trust are absolutely paramount for Olivia. They create the foundation for vulnerability and genuine change. She especially values working with clients long term. Some of her clients have been with her since her very first day at Inner Eastern Psychology, and it’s a true privilege for her to witness their growth, resilience, and progress through life’s many ups and downs.

🌱 Olivia values authenticity, compassion, and collaboration. She believes therapy works best when clients feel genuinely seen and supported as they explore what matters most to them.

Introducing Melissa (Mel), Psychologist working at our Hawthorn practice!
🌿 Areas of interests
Mel has a deep passion for working with adults navigating life transitions, identity, and relationships. She also supports clients with trauma histories, attachment wounds, and the lingering impact of childhood experiences on their wellbeing.
Her work is grounded in mindfulness, embodiment, and creative approaches, helping clients reconnect with themselves in ways that feel authentic and whole.

🌿 What Mel Values in Therapy
She values genuine connection and honesty above all.
For her, therapy works best when clients feel safe to show up exactly as they are, and when both can reflect openly together.
The relationship itself is the heart of the work, a space of warmth, curiosity, and trust where real change happens.

In Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), “dialectics” refer to the concept of finding a balance between two opposing elements, such as acceptance and change.
It means understanding that two different perspectives can both be true at the same time. For example, you can accept yourself as you are while also working to improve and grow.
DBT teaches us how to navigate conflicts, reduce emotional distress, and manage difficult situations by focusing on these co-exisiting concepts. It helps create a more balanced space, moving away from “all-or-nothing” thinking.

Our therapy rooms are thoughtfully curated to feel calm, grounded, and alive.
Surrounded by plants, natural light, and gentle textures, the space is designed to invite stillness, a place where we can slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with ourselves.
Every detail has been chosen with care, to nurture warmth, comfort, and a quiet sense of safety.
Growth and connection begins the moment you feel safe enough to just be.

Attachment is the invisible and poignant feeling that gives us a sense of safety, security, and confidence to explore the world as we grow. 🌏✨
Not everyone experiences attachment in the same way — and it can be important to understand how our attachment patterns influence the way we act, behave, and think. 💭
Difficulties related to attachment are common, and recognising how they present offers valuable insight into how we can build stronger, healthier relationships. 🌿
