It was to be Australia’s first. Perth has built 2 since. Our petition got a lot of responses from the Victorian Govt at the time. People power has an impact

Welcome to our page

Leah was the 1st Aussie woman to have Cyberknife for her cancer, in Oklahoma USA in 2005. It was non invasive, accurate and quick. Leah came back to Australia and returned to work on Hamilton Island. We have been trying to get Cyberknife to Australia since then. Melbourne was to get our 1st in 2013 but a change of Govt delivered a change of priorities. Then West Australia became the 1st state to get it but we kept petitioning to get it to the other states as well.
Melbourne’s Cyberknife centre is now due to open in May 2025 (12 years overdue).
We are hoping to have this centre named after Leah to honour her pioneering spirit
