We are born without belongings and when we again depart from this world we leave all behind.

Non accumulation also means to grant other people their freedom - not to hold onto others.

In letting go we also free ourselves.

TERM 2 HAS STARTED //

Last night we returned for Term 2 of our yoga and meditation classes and I asked the class a simple question: what do you need from your practice right now?

I always try to shape each session around the real, human needs in the room. One student asked, “Are there any techniques for having no energy?”

The answer was yes 👏 and we explored that together.

What’s interesting is that the practice itself didn’t look dramatically different. But where we place our focus can completely shift what we receive. With the right intention, even familiar movements can become energising, restorative and deeply supportive.

After class, that same student told me she felt like a completely different person! That maybe all she needed was a good yoga class 🎉

That’s the quiet power of an intentional, mindful practice. It brings us back into balance physically, mentally and energetically.

Term 2 has begun, and there’s still space to join us 💛

TERM 2 HAS STARTED //

Last night we returned for Term 2 of our yoga and meditation classes and I asked the class a simple question: what do you need from your practice right now?

Series 1 starts Friday 17 April

Focusing on
🔴Muladhara Chakra - the seat of our destiny

🟠 Svadhisthana Chakra - the subconscious level

🟡 Manipura Chakra - bringing clarity and self confidence

6 week course consisting of:
• live guided meditations 6 nights per week plus a recording so you can do it in your own time if you can’t make the live class
• 2 workshops giving more detail about the chakras
• option to join a chakra themed class on Sunday mornings

THE SACRED SPACE //

Sharing a little of the wisdom we reflected on and practiced at our recent urban unwind mini retreat.

We often live our lives in a play similar to ping pong. A phone pings and we check it. Someone says something sharp, we snap back. We feel a tight muscle and shift to avoid the discomfort. It is a cycle of stimulus and response.

In our extended practice we observed the power and wisdom that exists in the sliver of time between what happens to us and how we respond.

Our class wasn’t about being ‘perfect’ in the poses, it was to find the space. Practicing to pause when intensity rises, to take a conscious breath.

In that moment we practiced to shift from being the slave of our impulses to being the architect of our growth.

A valuable teaching that I share here to remind us to keep practicing.
