One thing I’ve come to learn about myself as an adult is the importance of finding your people, and that the more you stand in your authenticity, the less need to seek them out - they are drawn to you in perfect time and alignment.

Feeling so grateful and honoured this morning to be recognised by the fabulous Barbara, owner and founder of - a passionate and inspiring woman dedicated to not only help clients in personal practice, but to share her vision of empowerment by bringing people together.

We all have something to bring to the table, and after years of seeing insecurity, jealousy and petty competition dominate a lot of female ā€˜empowerment’ spaces, it feels good to finally find some beautiful, authentic women who aim to lift others up and support each other in divine purpose, Barbara being one of them.

Something I have learned over the years is the importance of cultivating a spiritual practice and belief system in conjunction with other physical and mental health practices. This became especially important in times of trial, challenge and pain, where I needed to find strength and meaning outside of myself in order to keep going.

More and more studies are showing the importance of a spiritual belief system and the positive effects it can have on a persons sense of mental health and well being, yet it is also important to be mindful when it can become an escape.

Especially if you are new to spiritual practice, it is normal to go all in and want to stay in that space for as long as possible, which can become detrimental after a while and turn you away from feeling empowered to powerless.

I am a huge advocate for spirituality with clients, and I think it’s important to develop a sense of discernment and self compassion when practicing spirituality.

Spiritual tools like divination, prayer and journey for example are potent tools for self awareness, but can easily become crutches for escape from problems (some might even use the term ā€˜spiritual bypassing here).

If you’re on this path, ask yourself, ā€œis this practice enhancing my reality? Or providing an escape from my reality?ā€

9 times out of 10 you know the answer you need, you know that path you need to take… have faith in God, Spirit, Guides, whoever you choose, but remember to have a little faith in yourself too😊✨

Have you ever stopped and taken a minute to consider the language you use, what it actually means and what you’re actually saying?

It might just be my nerd showing, but words matter. Definitions matter. The nuances in what you say and what you mean speak volumes about your intention.

This applies to interacting with others and also self talk. Communication is so automatic at times that we don’t always take time to consider what we are actually saying.

This has been an absolute game changer for me personally in learning to communicate better, strengthen my intentional practices and monitor my automatic thoughts and self talk.

Next time you catch yourself lost in thoughts or even for funsies, grab your dictionary or google search and look up the meanings of words you’re telling yourself and others.

• Find a comfortable sitting or reclining position. You want to sit so that the spine is as long as comfortably possible, so that you’re not slumped over but also not straining.

• Inhale naturally through the nose (there is no need to force or change it, although you might like to try slowing it down like you’re smelling a flower).

• If you want, you are welcome to place a hand on your chest and one on your belly to help deepen your connection to the breath.

• When you’re ready to breathe out,
purse your lips (like you’re blowing a kiss) and imagine you’re using your exhale to blow out a candle. Rather than a single, short burst of breath, try and lengthen the breath to make the imaginary candle flicker rather than blow it out straight away.

• Empty your lungs as best you can, and if you are able, see if you can briefly pause before taking your next breath. Often we breath so automatically that we don’t always empty the airways or take full, re-oxygenating breaths and stay stuck in a semi shallow state.

• Repeat as many times as you like and notice any differences in how you feel.

• a quick way to help regulate your nervous system
• better sleep quality
• an efficient and easy way to return to the present moment
• to practice an easy way to ground when feeling stressed or anxious

We all pass through the initiation gates of existentialism at different points in our lives. Experiences triggering big upheaval, trauma, grief, and death for example will often bring up the big questions of ā€˜why’ as we try to make sense of things.

In these moments, our world can be changed in an instance, shaking our perceptions, crumbling our comfort zone, questioning ourselves and forcing us to look inward at our foundational beliefs and values.

This is where people may feel aligned with something like spiritual counselling.

This modality helps bring perspective outside of our immediate, physical space to help find meaning and connection outside of ourselves, greater understanding and a greater sense of peace and contentment in they present moment.

By now, you’re probably well aware of the importance of physical, mental and emotional self care, but have you heard of spiritual self care?

Spiritual self care involves taking care of your spiritual needs and ā€˜energetic self’, and while important for everyone, it is especially important if you are an empath or Highly Sensitive Person (HSP).

It can often overlap with other types of self care, but what defines it from the others is that it usually is nourishing to your spiritual self - think along the lines of ā€˜raising your vibration’.

Some examples of might include:
🌻Prayer and fasting
🌻Intention setting
🌻Mindfulness and meditation
🌻Personal healing and shadow work
🌻Journalling
🌻Affirmations, Mantras and Chanting
🌻Listening to music or a podcast that helps you feel uplifted (or helps process emotional and mental states)
