I am devastated to let you all know that my beautiful Dad, Don Bain, took his last breath early hours of Thursday morning, 5th September, surrounded by Mum , myself, my sister Kaz, my brother Cam and his beautiful dog Rosie.

As many of you know, I closed my business Easter 2023 to help look after my dad who was going through treatment for cancer. It was a privilege to spend each day with him and support him on his journey.

Dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer that spread to his bones four years ago. He has a true Lionheart, is the bravest person I know and surprised many of the doctors with how well he responded to treatment in the early days. He never gave up. He wasn’t ready to die.

Dad is a true gentleman, softly spoken, incredibly wise and a lover of family, animals and nature. He was a gym ju**ie, a bushwalker and hiker and an adventurer and had the driest sense of humour with his terrible Dad jokes.

My heart is shattered in 1000 pieces.

Dad loved people and loved getting to know anybody and everybody that was around him whether it be at a party, a wedding or any get together, he would quietly work the room chatting to everybody and getting to know them in his own gentle way.

The celebration of Dad’s life will be held on Friday, 13 September at Whitehorse Uniting Church on the corner of Whitehorse Road and East Doncaster Road in Mitcham at 2 pm. Refreshments afterwards will be held at The Coach in Ringwood.
Everybody is welcome.
Parking at the church is limited so please arrive early to find a park if you would like to attend.

Thank you to everyone for your love and support during this heart breaking time.

Taking a Break xo

I hope you are well and had a lovely Easter.

As many people are aware, my family has been challenged over the past few years with various health issues, some of which are still ongoing. I feel incredibly blessed to have the skills and knowledge in both western and eastern medicine to be able to support them on their journey. At times it has been challenging and heart breaking to say the least.

I absolutely love the work that I do and the energy I share with each and every one of you at Calm Chi. I am so grateful for you trusting in me to support you on your journey through life. It is important for me to have abundant energy to be fully present during our sessions together. I truly honour you and the support you require.

It is with great deliberation that I have decided to take a break for a while to not only support my precious family but also to refuel my tank and practise self-care, the very advise I would give you if you were in the same boat.

This has been a very difficult decision for me but I trust that you understand my situation and am grateful for your love and support at this time.

If you have made an appointment between now and the end of May, I will SMS you to cancel it for now. I will let you know when things have settled and I am back in the clinic again.

Please take good care of yourself.

Love and blessings,
Mandy 😊

Today, we are encouraged at 8.30pm to participate in Earth hour where we switch off as much power as we possibly can.

We need to take time out for our planet.
Our environment continues to degrade at an alarming pace.

Eastern Australia is among the 24 global deforestation fronts, and we are the only developed nation on this list. 🤦‍♀️

An estimated 200,000 trees are bulldozed in Australia every day. That’s 8,000 trees every hour.

Trees are the lungs of our planet, and we need them to help reverse the impacts of climate change.

Now is the time to press the pause button and work together to protect nature and restore what we have lost.

So make the time - whether it’s 60 seconds, 60 minutes or beyond the hour - to reflect on the incredible benefits nature provides us and create a better future for people and our planet.
Let’s make a difference together.

Diabetes affects a large percentage of our population both adults and kids.
Education is paramount.

Sharon Lewis is the most wonderful diabetic educator, registered nurse, reiki master and all round divine soul. Her passion is to empower people on how they can live their life to their full potential as a diabetic. She shares this through her own personal experience as a type 1 diabetic and her extensive professional knowledge and wisdom.

Sharon is running a free seminar that is truly a gift to anyone with diabetes or for those who live or care for someone with diabetes.
Health professionals, this is a great one for you so you can understand how to support your patients/clients who have Type 1 diabetes.

This seminar is discussing Type 1 or insulin dependant diabetes, how to prevent diabetic burnout, nutrition and overall self care as a type 1 diabetic and introduces technology that can support a balanced blood sugar.

I can’t wait to attend Sharon’s seminar and learn from her. She is one of life’s treasures.

It is on Wednesday 29th March between 6.30om and 8.30pm at Patterson Lakes Community Centre.

Smile!!

You light up yourself and those around you.

Whether you call it a grin, smirk, beam or smile, there’s no denying the feel-good power of this happy facial expression.

We are born with the ability to smile, yet as we age, we smile less often.

Research shows that children smile an average of 400 times per day, compared to the average happy adult who smiles 40-50 times per day and the typical adult who smiles only 20 times per day!

Why is smiling important? Smiling not only offers a mood boost but helps our bodies release cortisol and endorphins that provide numerous health benefits, including:

Reduced blood pressure
Increased endurance
Reduced pain
Reduced stress
Strengthened immune system

Studies show that people who smile appear more likeable, courteous and competent.

Smilers tend to be more productive at work and make more money.

Want to increase your daily smile average to take advantage of these benefits? The first step is easy, start your day with a smile.

Smiling is contagious, and when we smile we activate neurons in the brain that fire a synchronizing feature. You’ll notice that one smile will lead to additional smiles not just for you, but for those around you.

Smiling is contagious. Meaning, a smile is one simple act capable of changing your relationship with everyone around you.

Give it a go and notice the benefits
First thing when you wake up, head to the mirror, smile and say
“Good morning sunshine!!!”### 😀😘❤️🙏
