✨ Welcome Dr Sonia Adole to Our Clinic! ✨

We’re delighted to welcome Dr Sonia Adole to our team.

Dr Sonia is a warm and highly experienced General Practitioner with a special interest in women’s health. She provides comprehensive, compassionate care across contraception, menopause, antenatal support and mental health, and is skilled in procedures including IUD insertions and removals, Implanon insertions and minor surgical treatments.

Known for her calm and patient-centred approach, Dr Sonia ensures every woman feels heard, supported and empowered in her healthcare decisions.

With qualifications including MBBS, DRCOG, MRCGP (UK) and FRACGP, she brings a wealth of experience and evidence-based practice to our community.

Outside the clinic, Dr Sonia enjoys travelling, exploring new cuisines and knitting — fun fact: she once knitted an entire scarf on a long-haul flight and gifted it to a fellow traveller she met onboard. 🧶✈️

Dr Sonia is passionate about supporting women through every stage of life, promoting both physical and mental wellbeing.

We would like to welcome Dr. Okamaria Kanu to Ripley Medical and Skin Clinic.

Dr. Maria is a UK-trained General Practitioner and Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), with over ten years of clinical experience providing patient-centered care. She trained and practiced in the West Midlands in the United Kingdom before relocating to Australia, and she now enjoys caring for individuals and families in Ipswich.

She is passionate about building long-term relationships with her patients and she believes strongly in working with patients rather than on them. She takes time to listen, explain medical conditions clearly, and involve patients actively in decisions about their care. Her approach is holistic, practical, and compassionate, with a strong emphasis on continuity of care and shared decision-making.

Patients can expect a warm, welcoming environment where trust, understanding, and personalized care are prioritized. She values evidence-based medicine, preventive care, and tailored management plans that reflect each patient’s individual needs and life circumstances.

Outside of medicine, she enjoys fashion, food, storytelling, and spending quality time with her young family. She looks forward to supporting her patients through all stages of life.

You may have seen recent news about GP clinics returning to bulk billing from November 1st.
We want to let our patients know that Ripley Medical and Skin Clinic will continue as a mixed billing practice.

Our priority has always been to provide safe, thorough, and high-quality care — not rushed appointments. Remaining mixed billing allows our doctors to spend the time needed to listen, explain, and provide continuity of care with familiar GPs who know you and your health journey.

We understand that cost of living pressures are affecting everyone, so we’ll continue to offer lower-cost options, such as routine requests, where appropriate. Please speak to one of our friendly staff to learn more about this option.

Unfortunately, the government rebate still doesn’t reflect the true cost of delivering quality medical care, supporting our skilled nurses, and maintaining great administrative staff.

We’re committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all our patients. That’s why we’ve recently upgraded all our waiting room chairs across the clinic.

Our new chairs are:
🪑 Made from plastic for easier cleaning and improved hygiene.
🪑 Designed with higher seating for better accessibility.
🪑 Rated to support up to 150kg per individual chair.

In addition, we’ve thoughtfully placed 3 bariatric chairs throughout the clinic. These offer wider seating and are rated to support up to 272kg, ensuring comfort and safety for all.
