Robe Surf Life Saving Club have been patrolling beaches at Robe for almost ten years now! Our club provides many opportunities to improve safety and prevent drownings at our local beaches from December into February each year through both patrols at beaches over the weekend, and with Nippers and Little Starfish activities through January and February. As a member of Surf Life Saving Australia we are available for emergency assistance as needed throughout the entire year. Patrolling members hold numerous water safety and First Aid awards, from Surf Rescue Certificate to Silver Medallion Aquatic Rescue and Advanced Resuscitation. In addition to patrols and Nippers for children we provide training in the following nationally accredited awards at various times throughout the year:

-Surf Rescue Certificate (assessment age 13)
-Bronze Medallion (assessment age 15 (incorporates Surf Rescue Certificate and higher level surf rescue skills)
-Inflatable Rescue Boat Crew and Driver awards (age 15 and 17 respectively)
-Advanced Resuscitation Techniques (HLTAID011)
Other training opportunities provided through Surf Life Saving Australia are also available through membership of Robe SLSC. If you are interested in patrolling and already hold a Bronze Medallion with another Surf Club in Australia, would like to renew one which has expired and can help keep our beaches safe, or hold Provide First Aid please contact our Club President Kristina Alexander (0417 815 797), Club Captain Luke Turner (0414 518 432), or Chief Instructor Cass Norton (0434 910 865). If you would like to develop confidence in the Surf our Surf Rescue Certificate is a great introductory award designed primarily for 13-15 years olds, and Bronze Medallion Awards for anyone 15 and over. We run these courses one to two times per year in the warmer weather. Opportunities exist for SACE accredited courses for Club members for Grade 10, 11 and 12 students. If you are interested in having your child develop their skills and confidence in the Surf through engagement with our Nippers programme please contact Club Secretary Kylie Johns (0419 851 298). Parental involvement is strongly supported and we love our parents to develop their skills too. We are always appreciative of anyone who is keen to run a BBQ, help as Age Managers and/or Nipper Helpers, even get your feet wet (but only a little if you like!) as Nippers Water Safety Certificate holders. If there are any other ways you think you might be able to or might like to help please contact us on any of the phone numbers above, we'd love to hear from you!

📢 ROBE PONTOON IS BACK!! 🏊‍♀️

We are thrilled to announce will be assisting the District Council of Robe with weekly inspections to bring back the swimming pontoon located at Front Beach 🏊🏼‍♀️

These inspections are voluntary and will be carried out by trained and competent members of the Club.

As well as weekly inspections, RSLSC will respond to any urgent safety issues identified by the Club during inspections.

‘As well as an iconic Robe activity, the pontoon also serves as a safe haven in inclement weather to VACSWIM learners and other young swimmers. It also provides first time swimmers an achievable target to safely swim out to in the Summer months - a nostalgic Robe memory for many. We are thrilled to help assist the District Council of Robe to keep this tradition alive’

Kristina Alexander, President of RSLSC

🌊🏊 We're all jumping for joy at the return of the pontoon to its summer home in Guichen Bay! 🤩☀️

A big shoutout to Jack Perkins for assisting with the deployment of this iconic feature, and a special mention to the Robe Surf Life Saving Club, who will be conducting weekly inspections to ensure the pontoon’s safety throughout the season. We also want to acknowledge our Council Members, who held a special meeting last night to make this happen. It’s been a big team effort, and we are so pleased to be able to have the popular facility back in the water.

Start looking for those pink vests! We’re very short of numbers so won’t have many available for purchase, but can possibly do swaps for different sizes if we have the stock.
