Robe Surf Life Saving Club have been patrolling beaches at Robe for almost ten years now! Our club provides many opportunities to improve safety and prevent drownings at our local beaches from December into February each year through both patrols at beaches over the weekend, and with Nippers and Little Starfish activities through January and February. As a member of Surf Life Saving Australia we are available for emergency assistance as needed throughout the entire year. Patrolling members hold numerous water safety and First Aid awards, from Surf Rescue Certificate to Silver Medallion Aquatic Rescue and Advanced Resuscitation. In addition to patrols and Nippers for children we provide training in the following nationally accredited awards at various times throughout the year:

-Surf Rescue Certificate (assessment age 13)
-Bronze Medallion (assessment age 15 (incorporates Surf Rescue Certificate and higher level surf rescue skills)
-Inflatable Rescue Boat Crew and Driver awards (age 15 and 17 respectively)
-Advanced Resuscitation Techniques (HLTAID011)
Other training opportunities provided through Surf Life Saving Australia are also available through membership of Robe SLSC. If you are interested in patrolling and already hold a Bronze Medallion with another Surf Club in Australia, would like to renew one which has expired and can help keep our beaches safe, or hold Provide First Aid please contact our Club President Kristina Alexander (0417 815 797), Club Captain Luke Turner (0414 518 432), or Chief Instructor Cass Norton (0434 910 865). If you would like to develop confidence in the Surf our Surf Rescue Certificate is a great introductory award designed primarily for 13-15 years olds, and Bronze Medallion Awards for anyone 15 and over. We run these courses one to two times per year in the warmer weather. Opportunities exist for SACE accredited courses for Club members for Grade 10, 11 and 12 students. If you are interested in having your child develop their skills and confidence in the Surf through engagement with our Nippers programme please contact Club Secretary Kylie Johns (0419 851 298). Parental involvement is strongly supported and we love our parents to develop their skills too. We are always appreciative of anyone who is keen to run a BBQ, help as Age Managers and/or Nipper Helpers, even get your feet wet (but only a little if you like!) as Nippers Water Safety Certificate holders. Reminder that our annual ‘Fun-i-val’ will be on in Beachport tomorrow, meaning Nippers will not be held at Longbeach as normal.
Start time at Surf Beach in Beachport will be 10am, so please ensure you are there early - any time after 9.30 works.
Remember to bring your pink vests, drink bottle and a towel!

Our first Nippers session starts this coming Sunday, 11th January. Due to a reduced number of trained and available age managers this year, numbers will be capped in each age group - it will simply be a matter of first in, first served. Ensure your registrations are completed ASAP to secure a spot.

Please note that REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED ON NIPPER DAYS. These must be done prior to commencement of a child's first session. Any assistance required will be provided on weekdays in readiness for the following Sunday. We ask that this request be respected due to the extra pressure and stress it creates at the desk on Nipper mornings.

Time to dig out those pink vests! One week to go until our first Nippers session! If you haven't yet registered, get onto it ASAP! Link listed below.
Age group helpers are still welcome - Working with Children Checks need to be valid.
Pink vests can be swapped over on the day for a different size (or beforehand if prearranged to save time on that first morning).
Confirmation emails will be going out soon to families - keep an eye out for these, possibly in junk/spam folders.

Calling all Nippers! It’s that time of the year again to invite any kids who would like to be part of the Robe Surf Life Saving Club float for this year’s Christmas Parade! Dig out your pink vests (spares will be available to borrow if needed), and dress in your beachwear (maybe wetsuits this year due to the weather - entirely up to you!). Meet at the school oval at 4.00pm. All welcome!
