Robertson Doctor

Robertson Doctor The local general practice in Robertson village. Great friendly practice with an emphasis on family

We are trying to make a positive difference to how primary care interacts with it's communities and how communities interact with their health. It's a work in progress, but at this stage I feel it's time to open this conversation up to the community. I hope this FB page will be part of an ongoing conversation about our health.

📢 We’ve Upgraded Our Recall & Reminder System!

To make things easier for our patients, Robertson Doctor has introduced a new recall and reminder system through HotDoc 💚

This change will help us streamline our processes and ensure you receive important reminders more efficiently.

If you receive a text message or email from HotDoc saying that your GP has a message for you, it may relate to:
✅ A vaccination reminder
✅ A health check that’s due
✅ Test results that have arrived

There’s no need to worry — it’s simply a friendly reminder to book an appointment with your regular GP.

You can book online via HotDoc or call us on (02) 4885 2569 to make an appointment.

Thank you for helping us keep your healthcare simple and seamless! 🌿

🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀

At Robertson Doctor, we’re proud to stand in support of all those affected by breast cancer — the fighters, the survivors, and the families who walk beside them.

This month is a reminder of the importance of early detection. Regular check-ups and screenings save lives. 💞

Take a moment to prioritise your health, and encourage the women in your life to do the same. Together, we can raise awareness and spread hope. 🌸

💚 Hi Robertson! Kim here, Robertson Doctor’s Practice Manager. 💚

I wanted to take a moment to connect with our community, as Mental Health Week recently passed — though, at Robertson Doctor, we believe mental health deserves our attention every week of the year.

The number one step should always be to practice self-compassion. 💚
We are often our own worst critics, holding ourselves to impossible standards shaped by society, childhood experiences, and the pressures of everyday life. True healing begins when we learn to speak to ourselves with the same kindness, patience, and understanding that we offer to others.

At Robertson Doctor, our doctors and staff take mental health very seriously. We’re passionate about creating a space where our patients — and our team — feel supported, heard, and cared for.

Here are a few ways to care for your mental health on a regular basis:

✨ 1. Check in with someone — a friend, family member, or professional.
This is often the hardest step, especially when it feels difficult to put feelings into words. Emotional literacy isn’t something most of us were taught, yet it’s essential for well-being. Talking through your experiences can lighten the load and remind you that you’re not alone.

✨ 2. Take small moments to pause and reset.
Step back when life feels overwhelming — go for a walk, breathe deeply, listen to music, or do something that helps you feel grounded. These moments of calm aren’t indulgent — they’re essential.

✨ 3. Reach out for professional support when needed.
There is incredible strength in seeking help. Whether it’s from a friend, mental health professional, or your GP, reaching out shows self-awareness and courage, not weakness.

This Mental Health Week — and every week — we at RobDoc ask you to remember that you don’t have to have it all together. Taking small steps, showing yourself grace, and allowing yourself to rest are all forms of strength.

Let’s continue to check in with ourselves and each other, to talk openly, support one another, and remind our community that no one walks this journey alone. 💚

🌼 Today is R U OK? Day 🌼

A simple question can make a world of difference.
At Robertson Doctor, we encourage everyone to check in with the people around them – friends, family, colleagues, and even those you might not know so well.

💛 You don’t need to be an expert – just a good listener.
💛 Asking “R U OK?” could be the conversation that helps someone feel supported and less alone.

Let’s start more meaningful conversations today, and every day.
Together, we can make a difference.

👉 If you or someone you know is struggling, know that support is available. Please reach out to a health professional or call Lifeline on 13 11 14.

Dr Rahnuma will be joining us from Tuesday 12th August and will begin seeing patients from Wednesday 13th August.

Dr Rahnuma is a highly experienced and compassionate GP with over six years of clinical experience across Australia and overseas. Her warm, thoughtful approach and dedication to high-quality, patient-centred care make her a wonderful addition to our team.

She has a strong background in general medicine, paediatrics, women’s health, emergency care, and chronic disease management. Dr Rahnuma is also currently undertaking further paediatric training through the Diploma of Child Health with the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network and Western Sydney University.

starting from Monday 18th August.

Appointments with Dr Rahnuma are now open – we invite you to book online or contact our reception team.

As Dr Rahnuma joins us in her role as a GP Registrar, we are pleased to offer reduced consultation fees for appointments with her. These discounted fees apply only to visits with Dr Rahnuma and are part of her supervised training under the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) program.

This is a great opportunity for patients to receive high-quality care at a lower cost while supporting the professional development of future GPs. Dr Rahnuma is fully qualified and brings with her a wealth of clinical experience and a caring, patient-focused approach.

Please join us in giving her a warm welcome to the Robertson community! 🌿

🧠 National Stroke Week | 5–11 August 2025 🧠

Here at Robertson Doctor, we’re proud to support National Stroke Week by helping our community learn how to recognise the signs of stroke and act FAST.
Knowing the signs could save a life — maybe even someone you love.

🚨 Think F.A.S.T. 🚨
Face – Has their face drooped?
Arms – Can they lift both arms?
Speech – Is their speech slurred or confused?
Time – Time is critical. Call 000 immediately.

Strokes can happen to anyone — and every minute counts.

💡 Many strokes are preventable. If you're over 45 or have a family history of stroke, pop in and see us at Robertson Doctor for a quick blood pressure check and chat about your risk factors.

Let’s stay informed and protect our community together 💙

📣 Please read the below letter regarding important updates for Dr Wilson’s patients.

Dear Valued Patients,

We wish to advise that, effective Monday 5th August 2025, there will be a small increase to the private fee for a standard consultation (Item 23) with Dr. Mark Wilson, rising from $85.20 to $90.00.

This is Dr. Wilson’s first fee adjustment in over two years, and it reflects the rising cost of providing quality healthcare and running a medical practice. Despite increasing operational costs, including those aligned with the Consumer Price Index (CPI), Dr. Wilson has maintained consistent fees in an effort to support his patients.

Please note that this change applies only to private-billed patients. Concession card holders, children under 16, and DVA patients will continue to be billed in line with current Medicare arrangements.

We thank you for your understanding and continued support, and we remain committed to delivering the highest standard of care to our community. If you have any questions about this change, please don’t hesitate to contact our team.

Warm regards,
Robertson Doctor
