💚 Hi Robertson! Kim here, Robertson Doctor’s Practice Manager. 💚
I wanted to take a moment to connect with our community, as Mental Health Week recently passed — though, at Robertson Doctor, we believe mental health deserves our attention every week of the year.
The number one step should always be to practice self-compassion. 💚
We are often our own worst critics, holding ourselves to impossible standards shaped by society, childhood experiences, and the pressures of everyday life. True healing begins when we learn to speak to ourselves with the same kindness, patience, and understanding that we offer to others.
At Robertson Doctor, our doctors and staff take mental health very seriously. We’re passionate about creating a space where our patients — and our team — feel supported, heard, and cared for.
Here are a few ways to care for your mental health on a regular basis:
✨ 1. Check in with someone — a friend, family member, or professional.
This is often the hardest step, especially when it feels difficult to put feelings into words. Emotional literacy isn’t something most of us were taught, yet it’s essential for well-being. Talking through your experiences can lighten the load and remind you that you’re not alone.
✨ 2. Take small moments to pause and reset.
Step back when life feels overwhelming — go for a walk, breathe deeply, listen to music, or do something that helps you feel grounded. These moments of calm aren’t indulgent — they’re essential.
✨ 3. Reach out for professional support when needed.
There is incredible strength in seeking help. Whether it’s from a friend, mental health professional, or your GP, reaching out shows self-awareness and courage, not weakness.
This Mental Health Week — and every week — we at RobDoc ask you to remember that you don’t have to have it all together. Taking small steps, showing yourself grace, and allowing yourself to rest are all forms of strength.
Let’s continue to check in with ourselves and each other, to talk openly, support one another, and remind our community that no one walks this journey alone. 💚
