💡 Why Knowing Your BMI Matters More Than You Think!
Your Body Mass Index (BMI) is more than just a number—it’s a simple tool that helps you understand if your weight is in a healthy range for your height.
📊 Knowing your BMI can help you and your GP spot potential health risks early on.
🔍 Here’s what your BMI can tell you:
➡️ Overweight? You could be at risk for:
• Type 2 Diabetes
• High blood pressure
• Cardiovascular disease
• Joint & muscle problems
➡️ Underweight? It might lead to:
• Malnutrition
• Anaemia
• Osteoporosis
📏 How to calculate your BMI:
Just divide your weight in kg by your height in metres squared.
Example: 70kg ÷ (1.85m × 1.85m) = 20.5 ✅
🧠 Know the numbers:
• 18.5 - 24.9 = Healthy
• 25 - 29.9 = Overweight
• 30+ = Obese
• Below 18.5 = Underweight
⚠️ Heads-up: BMI doesn’t consider age, gender, ethnicity, muscle mass, or pregnancy - so it’s not a one-size-fits-all.
