π£ Today, we had an important meeting for the future of Physiotherapy supports under the NDIS.
Luke Newland and Lauren Newland, Directors of Physio 4 Kids Australia, Dr Nikki Milne (PhD), Associate Professor of Physiotherapy (Paediatrics) at Bond University, and Paige Hooper, APA-titled Neurological Physiotherapist at Neuro Junction and a representative of Bond University, met with Leon Rebello, Member for McPherson.
We came together to raise serious concerns about the recent changes to the NDIS, including:
πΉ A significant decrease in physiotherapy prices in the PAPL (Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits)
πΉ The halving of allowable travel rates for physiotherapists
These changes put vital therapy services at risk for many participants, particularly children with high and complex needs.
We thank Leon for his time.
Leon has advised that he will take our concerns to Canberra. We hope this marks the beginning of constructive dialogue and much-needed advocacy to ensure quality, accessible, and sustainable therapy supports continue under the NDIS. π
