Remember, you can get skin damage when UV is 3 or above even if you don’t get sunburnt. You can’t see or feel UV radiation.

Self-checks for skin cancer become more important after you turn 30, because mole accumulation usually peaks around age 35 and begins to decline with time.

Regardless of any self-checks, you should always have a proper skin check in clinic every 12 months (or on a schedule as advised by your clinician)

A new mole in an elderly person should raise immediate suspicion, as most spots and freckles have completely faded by the time we reach our senior years. Similarly, a new mole that stands out from the rest in a young person should be checked for symptoms of skin cancer too.

Have you had an iron infusion before?

→ Staining is a rare complication can happen during an iron infusion, where the iron solution leaks into the surrounding tissues, causing a permanent stain, similar to a tattoo. It does not go away with time.
