New NDIS Funding Periods Start 19 May 2025: What You Need to Know

From Monday 19 May 2025, the way NDIS funding is released in new and reassessed plans is changing — and it’s important you’re prepared.

Under the new system, participants will receive their funding in smaller, time-based chunks (called funding periods), rather than the full amount upfront

The new funding periods apply to all plans approved from 19 May 2025 onwards.
This change affects how supports are delivered, claimed, and reported — and will impact plan-managed, self-managed, and agency-managed participants alike.
