What are trigger balls for?
Trigger balls are a simple tool we use in physiotherapy, chiropractic and remedial massage to help release tight muscles between appointments.
They work by applying gentle pressure to “trigger points” which are small areas in a muscle that become tight, tender and can refer pain elsewhere in the body.
Using a trigger ball can help:
✨ relieve neck and shoulder tension
✨ ease headaches caused by tight muscles
✨ loosen upper back stiffness
✨ reduce hip and glute tightness
✨ support recovery after exercise
Think of it as a self-massage you can do at home.
Your practitioner can show you exactly where to place it and how much pressure to use so you’re helping the area, not irritating it.
