R U OK? Day is a reminder to check in with the people around you, because connection and kindness can make all the difference.

Let’s keep the conversation going, not just today, but 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆.

🕊 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆.

Each year on this day, we reflect on challenges faced by communities through the lens of our faith, and seek ways to act justly in our world.

Social Justice Sunday also marks the release of the annual 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 from the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference.

The theme of this year’s Statement is ‘𝘚𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘏𝘰𝘱𝘦 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘥𝘨𝘦: 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘗𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘔𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘐𝘭𝘭 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩.’

In his foreword, 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗯𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗲 𝗦𝗗𝗕 shares a heartfelt message that reminds us of our call to action as a community of faith. You can hear his full reflection in the video below.

🤩 We 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 seeing some of our Central Highlands clients enjoying the annual 𝙎𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙤𝙧𝙨 𝙇𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙤𝙣 in Emerald earlier this week!

This much-loved annual tradition, organised by Central Highlands Regional Council, brings together senior residents from across the region to share stories while enjoying good food and local entertainment.

Community events like these remind us how special it is to 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 the vibrant spirit of Central Queensland. 💙

Last Friday, we joined in the celebrations at the 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼 in Yeppoon.

With more than 40 stalls, the expo was an informative and fun celebration of this year's theme: 𝙎𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙤𝙣 𝙎𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙤𝙧𝙨 - 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙇𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙎𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙤𝙧𝙨.

Adding to the celebrations, our team took home the award for the best decorated stall! 🏆

Our support workers don't just 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘶𝘱 - they truly shine ✨

We often hear how 𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙮 they are to talk to, how much of a 𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 their support makes, and how 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙛𝙪𝙡 people feel to have them by their side.

It’s care that offers more than practical support - 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱.
