That’s exactly what we celebrated at two events recently that brought together locals across Rockhampton and Gracemere.

At the 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼, there was no shortage of information on ageing well from local providers and health professionals. It was wonderful chatting with attendees, including many of our clients who stopped by to 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺.

We also braved an incredibly hot afternoon for the 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿. ☀ Despite the heat, Cedric Archer Park was buzzing with families having fun in the sun, and our freebies, especially the lollies, were a hit with the kids (and big kids!).

We LOVE being part of events that bring people together, because 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 is at the heart of everything we do. 💙

🎓 We were honoured to join CQUniversity at their 𝗖𝗤𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝘀 & 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 event in Rockhampton recently.

Theatre invites us to 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀. 🎭

This week, Midpoint Theatre Company presents 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨, a play that sparks conversations about mental health with warmth, humour and hope.

Members of our counselling team will be in the foyer during the performance with information, resources, and a listening ear for anyone who feels moved by the performance and would like to talk.

Earlier this year, our Domestic and Family Violence team supported audiences during the performance of 𝘖, 𝘖𝘱𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘢, and we’re proud to partner again to continue these important conversations and ensure support is always nearby.

You may have heard that change is on the way in aged care.

From 𝟭 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, the Home Care Package and Short-term Restorative Care programs will transition to 𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙖𝙩 𝙃𝙤𝙢𝙚.

𝗪𝗲 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻. But what won't change is the quality of care and support from us you know and trust.

Did you know, around 80–85% of people with a disability have one that isn’t visible?

🌻The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower can be worn by anyone with a non-visible disability. It’s a simple way to say “𝘐 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘢 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦, 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺.”

It’s Invisible Disabilities Week (19–25 October)! 🌻

Around 80–85% of people with a disability have one that isn’t visible. These include neurological, cognitive, sensory, mental health, and chronic conditions that aren’t always immediately apparent.

Not all disabilities are visible — but a little understanding and kindness can go a long way in making everyone feel seen and supported.

We were out and about in Mackay yesterday for the 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝘆 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼!

It was a brilliant day connecting with locals, chatting about care options, and helping people understand what their aged care journey might look like.

📸 Throughout the day, visitors enjoyed flicking through our 25th anniversary photos from 1999, sharing memories and stories about the familiar faces and places in those pictures.

It was a lovely reminder that 𝘄𝗲’𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲, and we’re still here, 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹𝘀 every step of the way. 💙

Connecting with our communities helps us 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗻, 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗱, and is one of the most impactful ways we can 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵. 🫶
