A milestone week in Mackay for our 𝘿𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙖 𝙏𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 team! 💚

Across just a few days, our team delivered 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 focused on strengthening dementia awareness, education, and support across the region.

𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 attended an evening session exploring the latest in dementia care, while a 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 invited locals to learn more about the program and the services now available.

💬 The week also marked a special highlight, with the team hosting their first 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 in Mackay, creating space for deeper learning, connection, and support.

With the official launch of 𝘿𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙖 𝙏𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 in Mackay, we’re proud to be bringing 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 to people living with dementia and those who care for them.

🌸 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆!

Today we 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 of women in our communities and within our own CatholicCare team.

Across Central Queensland, women play a 𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 in shaping families, workplaces, and communities. As colleagues, carers, advocates, friends, and neighbours, women’s contributions help create spaces where 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱, 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱.

⚖ This year’s International Women’s Day theme, 𝘽𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙨, reminds us that fairness, dignity, and opportunity should 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 depend on someone’s gender.

Today, and every day, we continue working toward a future where the scales are balanced, and 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗱, 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 💙

There’s something 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 about revisiting places that hold precious memories ✨

Our Bundy Social Group recently enjoyed a day out in 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆 𝗕𝗮𝘆, including a visit to the iconic 𝗨𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗶𝗲𝗿.

As group member Trish stood looking out over the water, she fondly recalled childhood family holidays in Hervey Bay, and reminisced about riding the little tourist train 🚂 that once travelled along the pier.

For Trish, it was a chance to share treasured memories while creating a few new ones. And that’s what our Social Groups 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 💙
